Default Introducing JimmytheSaint from Dublin

Hey guys,

I am a 25 year old guy from Dublin in Ireland. I have decided to use jimmythesaint as my alias as I love the character played by Andy Garcia in the movie "Things to do in Denver when you're dead"

I got involved in the world of self development when I was at a low point in my life about two years ago (October 2005). At this time I was very depressed and frustrated. I was unhappy with the way I looked and although I had people around me I felt lonely, unattractive and had no firm control over my life. Reading self help books has changed my life. Today, I am a different person. I've achieved so so much in such a short space of time.

Some of the books I read were: Maximum Achievement, Goals (Brian Tracy); Unlimited Power (Anthony Robbins); What to say when you talk to yourself (Shad H.); The magic of rapport (Richardson); How to make friends and influence people (carnegie); Think and grow rich (Hill); The richest man in babylon (clayton)......and many many more. In fact I never really read many books before this. Now I'm a voracious reader and have sought out many motivators from books and the internet. I really like the look of this forum and I hope to get a lot from it. In return I will attempt to give back as much as I possibly can.

Thank you for reading and I hope to get to know some positive people.

Jimmy

Hey, Jimmy. You can call yourself Jimmy, but in my head, I'm just going to call you Ming the Merciless after my favorite Dubliner. (Favorite after Leopold Bloom, of course!) Hi!

Hi Jimmy

I am Irish too from Derry but live in Brighton now. I read every personal development book that I could get my hands on and then went off to London.

My Irish relatives thought I was crazy but I ended up having a great time - and really enjoy my life - I went on to get qualified in the subjects that I read about - hypnosis/personal development/NLP/coaching - everybody told me no way but I did it.

Have you got into positive psychology yet / signiture strenghts / emotional intelligence / personality testing - the counselling bodies and psychologists in england are all going that way now with new programs going into schools.

Welcome to the forums, Jimmy!

That's a cool coincidence. I got into personal development at the end of 2005 as well and I read the exact same books (except for the Magic of Rapport, since I haven't heard of that one).
