Only kidding!!!!!!

I'm pretty much an open book, personally, but I typically don't identify my family or friends by name online, just in case. I'm 33, happily married and the father of a wonderful 18 month old boy who happens to make for a terrible patient. More on that later, though.

My day job is in computer support and I'm very lucky to have a job that combines my computer skills with an automotive-related test and development lab, meaning I get to drive cool cars and get paid for it. The job itself could be more exciting, but overall I'm happy.

As for my son, ayy-yi-yi! Oh the things they don't prepare you for when you go to have a kid. My son never has been the best sleeper and being sick throws off his schedule something fierce. About 4 weeks ago, he came down with the croup (a whooping cough-type thing). On top of that, he gets an ear infection, then follows it up with a stomach flu (or maybe two, we're not sure). On top of that, the antibiotic for the ear infection threw off his digestive system, causing constipation. So at the end of all that illness, he got so spoiled that he expected mom the other night to wake up at midnight to take him into the living room to watch TV. And at that age, it's not a polite request, either. It sounds like his head is going to explode if he screams any harder. So we wake up and coddle him, thinking he's in pain then, after a while, mom sits down with him in front of the TV and SNAP! The crying stops instantly, then the power struggle ensues. So by 3 AM, after a car ride to zonk him out, all was quiet again and I was all prepped and ready for a WONDERFUL day at work.

Last night, thank the good Lord, he slept well. I think, or rather I hope that he's figured out who's boss again and will keep getting a good night's sleep from now on. He's really a very wonderful kid when he's well rested and feeling good. Like I said, though, he makes for a lousy patient.

So there's my life...

Nothing has gone wrong Gordon... the last posts have revealed more about who we truly are than if we had tried to really describe ourselves...

However, I promise to stop the hijacks and get back on topic...

For some reason, it's conventional to descibe a child under 2 years old in terms of months, not years. If you've been around children, knowing the number of months gives you a much better idea of what developmental stage they're at versus saying "Oh, he's 1" or 1 1/2 or 0.

He's actually feeling much better now. The illnesses I described pretty much came to an end early last week, but he's still having sleeping troubles from being spoiled by all the extra attention when he was sick. He had another round of late night crying last night. I wound up sleeping in the basement guest room to escape it.

I think that what A_L has on his mind right now has more to do with physical activities than with a lifelong commitment...

Angela will become famous soon enough
Default revealing important info about myself

I prefer the bits lopped off, I'm sorry, Gordon! I have a woman friend who emigrated from the UK to the US for that same reason -- the odds seemed better to her. and my ex-fiance tells me he that reaction he got from women post-lopped (at age 26 - ouch!) was unanimously more positive.

Not that I'm recommending anyone do anything rash.

No no no no.......apart from the pain......your not born with the bits lopped off. Poor children subject to such a barbaric act is immoral in my opinion

Plus, when your bits are intact you can do impressions with it. I can make mine look like Prince Charles and also a hamburger!!! I am trying to perfect Prince Charles eating a hamburger.
