Default What hobby makes you money? Here is a hint ...

"I have interest, not hobbies, because hobbies cost money" -- George Carlin

What hobby gives you money? POKER! To be honest, I really forgot how I first started into poker ... I think it has to do with something with the World Poker Tour. Anyways, I would lie if I said I started winning when I first started out, but looking at the at my bank roll history, I'm a winner player. Even ought it's not that much money.

It's not usual for me to sit down in a game and play for 3-4 hours in a sit and go tournament and win $60, 100, $200 dollars in a consistent basis. Perhaps it's because I'm playing home games against fish, muahahaha!

Poker is good to supplement your income. So how the frig do you start making money playing poker without going broke? Start playing micro limit games of $0.05/$0.10 on Party Poker or something and understand the game, position, pot odds, bluffing, reading the board, reading players, betting strategy, playing style etc.

Anyways, why I frigging love poker is because it's like this continuous development of skills. It requires attention and discipline, among with psychology and odds. It requires critical thinking in the heat of battle, with super reflex to fend off the enemy.

So if you're thinking of making money with card games, poker is where it's at. It's truly a battle of skills.

But on the other hand, don't expect quick cash. Built up your skills in micro-limit games, gradually move up as you become better and you should do okay.

You might find you answer in this excerpt seen here...

When President Bush signed the Security and Accountability for Every Port Act on Friday, it marked the end of PartyPoker.com's reign at the top of the U.S. Internet poker mountain.

The law includes an attachment, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which requires U.S. financial institutions to block transactions to Internet casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms. PartyPoker, long the dominant player on the Internet poker landscape, has officially stopped allowing U.S. players to wager real money in its online poker room in response to the law. The decision to prevent American customers from utilizing the site was made by the Board of Directors of PartyGaming, which owns and operates PartyPoker along with several other online gaming properties.

Still plenty of online poker rooms that gladly accept US customers. You see, despite the fact that Dubya wishes he could the US isn't allowed to make laws for foreign governments. Try PokerStars.com for starters.....

The biggest problem with poker is that most people wil LOSE money with it, partially because they just don't have the knowledge to succeed but more importantly because they can't handle the emotional rollercoaster poker can put you through. This goes especially if your playing to make money, you will attach to much value to winning and your ego will be severely hurt when you lose money. This results in bad desiscions and consequintly your losing more money which ends in a viscious cycle downward.

If you decide to make money with poker go in with the mindset of having fun and becoming the best damn player you can be. If you can accomplish those two feats you'll have made heaps of money.

The great thing about poker is that its truly a battle against yourself...

I am into Personal Development as a hobby. I have decided to combine Forum postings (like here) with promoting ClickBank products on this topic.

So, I buy and try the product and I promote it.

I have been doing that for a few weeks now and have generated a few sales. I'm not expecting this to replace my current job but to get me a few hundred dollars per month while learning more about Personal Development and Internet Marketing.

I still remember when I lit up my fine cigar, logged on to Party Poker for another fun evening of taking peoples mone........ahhh.... I mean playing poker, when the insidious pop up, popped up.

"You are a child. We are your government. From now on you are forbidden to gamble.

No problem, I mumbled, I'll just pop over to Paradise Poker and.........

"You are a child. We are your government. From now on you are forbidden to gamble.

I like your idea of ProphetsPlace.com
I always liked the idea of having a site called Croonersworld.com
Bring back the 60's but without the stupid racism.

The way things are going in the U.S. we'll soon be forced to were crash helmets when walkin down the street.
I can see the Brain Washing on TV.
"Please be Careful. You never know when you could fall and bonk your head. Wear your Helmets. $1000.00 fine if you don't. We care only for your $afety."

BTW here's my hobby site, but it's not mainly for the money, just self expression.

My friend in college dated a guy who was a professional poker player. Literally all his income came from poker. He supported himself quite well and spent very few hours playing poker.

If you are good enough to earn some money playing poker-lucky you!

I'm jealous....
