Mmmmm....I gotta really work that Redemption Center...lots of merchandise in the store room. And the Rep Points exchange going on is like the downfall of Rome! No holds barred on this one, kiddos: if you hated my posts, nows the time to cut it loose and tell me. (Rotten Tomato Sheilds are ON SALE at the Points Redemption Center). I will not repond in kind to insults, nor will I take exceptional offense to them. The announcement that the forums are closing down brings an air of the Last Day Of School before summer vacation, and I'm sure no amount of animosity will get you banned from the Titanic. Whoa...I take complements, too: it's not too late for me to pander for crumbs of approval. |

I just want to say good-bye to you, royster. I admire you for your commitment to contribute in your own ways towards making this world a better place, for your courage to expose the monster that could easily crush you with a flick of its little finger, for your honesty and pure heartedness. It has been a pleasure to have you around. All the best and good luck. Merrick

Thank you, Merrick. I guess if I rep you, you'd have some extra capitol to spend at the Redemption Center...you could take a few of those ZephyrusX wagon rides and REALLY know excitement! You are willing to die as a consequence to a revolution's resistance, or you're just giving lip service. Thanks for your recognition. |

I remember a stormy June afternoon in Washington, D.C. sitting in front of my radio, hanging on to every note and word of the final broadcast of "A Prairie Home Companion" in 1986. I went on to sit in front of the radio and listen to no fewer than three stations go off the air, over the years, faithfully sitting there, unable to do much but let my heart beat, and know that it's over. And I watched as forums deteriorated to non-existance. Another notch in my emotions, today, but from the previous experiences, I take it a bit different, now. |

Hi Royster, I think you have a funny sense of humor and I think it was wonderful for you to share so many insights here. There are many recent posts by you that I wanted to comment on, but I mostly lurk and do not get the chance to post very often. I'd still like to pick your brain, but with limited time, I guess I really need to focus. In the LOA thread you recently shared info and mention discernment. This is a word I have seen recently and would appreciate your definition and what it means to you. If you have the chance to respect replying to me, who has never interacted here with you before, in these end times of the forum, I would appreciate it. Nice to meet you by the way |

I remember a local FM station, WAPP, an oldies station threatening to change formats. Friends-by-phone with the morning D.J., I was made privvy to an "event to occur" that following Monday. The claim was that this D.J. had gotten into the station's computer and switched codes, and then locked himself in the studio. The morning's broadcast was him essentially highjacking the radio station "until demands were met" to keep the oldies format. What gave this hoax away was the scene where management "gave in", and requested a song, "Only In America". It was cued up and playing in a few seconds, and I knew right then we had all been duped. It was a publicity stunt. I ended up working for that radio station, and also walking out in the middle of my shift, disgusted with satelite radio. "New Coke" lasted a month or two, then "Classic Coke" returned to much demand for that which the public had been denied. I always wonder about transitions, and their true intentions. "Discernment"...think "scrutiny". To really ponder the aspects of a thing, to look for little hidden things that may be sneaky, and procede without detection if you don't scrutinise. To simply gloss over by scanning and to simply read a "sound byte" allows many unwanted elements into the psyche. "Discernment" is the process of checking everything out to make sure it's clean and legitimate. I'm not certain, but I think its root word is "discretion". Feel free to "pick" as much as you want. I think I may have allowed others to abuse my resources. Things you have posted have helped me understand this. I imagine this is not supposed to be posted in this thread, but worrying about that type of thing is why I did not post much in the past. So, if a mod needs to move this, I'm ok, but maybe the mods don't care. Anyway, thanks Royster!

You are indeed welcome, MovingForward, and you are indeed moving forward. There are no rules to this thread. It's my last hurrah here and I invite any and all discussion...and I find your contributions on this thread very beneficial. So help yourself. Actually, you've set a president of people asking further defining of stuff I've posted, and that's just terrific. Clarity of topic is great, particularly if you haven't had the chance (or courage) to ask previously. Now's the time to do it. Jokes are welcome too |

Anyway, are you talking presidents, like Obama? Or prescedence, like I don't want to set a prescedence for being a thread killer even if the forum is dead? As

| ROYSTER'S FILTHY LITTLE SECRET I am terrible at spelling, still. On my forum there's a built-in spell checker. I have never been on a vBulletin forum that had one. So I meant prescendent. The way I evolved was to address my own internal problems and hang-ups first. In fact, most spiritual practices request this. As we discard our old dysfunctions, new "brain space" opens up, and we become more intuitive. Our experiences along the way...though many may seem unrelated...link up to a full equasion. The same pattern of learning / growing is seen in someone asking "What is the meaning of life?" and demanding the answer right now, on their terms. Fact is, if we do our own spiritual maintenance, the answers to our questions come in due time, with what we've learned along the way, and at the time we will best experience the answer. And not on our terms, but the universal terms accepted by universal minds. An agreed-upon language, sort of...and it is so in order for there to be no question of doubt. This is the distinction between knowing and intellectualizing. The best starting point is dismantling the belief system we were born into, and forced to accept. In short, redefine everything for yourself, over time. KNOW what is a lie, and what proves to be truth. |

That was my attempt at humor, president, prescedence and an attempt to not kill the thread. Thanks for sharing here. I will check out your spell check. I feel like the kid on the last day of school asking you to sign my year book, but you don't really know me. I'm limited in posting time, but have been reading and was looking for the next week in free time to post. I guess Steve has other plans. |

Okay, I'll quit Haagen Das Fun And Rec forum with my own threads, but I do want to say this little thing: When I announced I was leaving facebook, few gave a rat's puhtooky. I rallied the last 24 hours with all kinds of stuff, not the least was some music selections. I catagorised them and placed the list here on the Pavlina forums. To this day I get people telling me how much they miss me on Facebook. You appreciate someone? Tell 'em while they're still ♥♥♥♥ing alive, wouldja? royster's playlist |
