Hey! That's sneaky cussin'!

Oh. That reminds ME of "Sneaky Cousin".

And I'm RIGHT NEXT DOOR to West Virginia.

Ohhh I'm gonna be off line for a bit, guys. Cuss on!

I'm starting to think this whole "Pavlina / PD for you" scam is just a test for members. Those who tried to use the F-word in any form in the past 8 hours failed.

And now, st33med is the official spokesperson for the "new" forum. That CAN'T be right, and belongs in "Fun and Rec". No reasonable spokesperson starts a Public Relations campaign with "ME and the others..."

I've had a lot of fun here in F&R, and of all the threads I started, I think I got the greatest laughs out of "Funny Replies To Other Boards". Some of your replies had me in stitches!

I am also very grateful to those who participated in "Provide A Caption", with equal gratitude for those who provided illustration...Marinik was my primary supplier, but others were good sources. And of course, HIGH HONORABLE MENTION to Wax Frog and his artistic creations.

Like the other humorists on this forum, I had some flops, as did Mounds (Tim), and in lieu of that, I really don't think Tim EVER expected "Make An Unfounded Claim" to be so successful...as it still is. In the future, whenever you see an imitation of that thread, you'll know Tim's spirit of laughter has permeated the cyber ether. Congrats, Tim, and THANKS for a wonderful thread that let total strangers throw pies in the faces of anyone, while no one got hurt. It probably allowed many newcomers to feel at home.

In no particular order or status, I personally thank wolfgang, Midnight, Mounds, Wax frog, cacheborn, LostMyMap, sorter, BillyTheAdult and a few others (if you don't see your name here, check back later) for having a sharp wit and great sense of humor, sometimes so sharp I had to step away from the computer. It was difficult to get people to participate in humor where you had to think: my disappointment in F&R was seeing fairly pedestrian threads enjoy so much popularity. But not everybody HAS a sharp wit, and many (by their own admission) found "recreation" in posting pictures of scantily-dressed men and women. In ALL of these things, Wax Frog kept us all in check.

A special note to ZephyrusX, who didn't participate a lot, but her contributions were SO welcomed. Thanks, Sis.

I have no intention of writing or performing comedy as any kind of career: laughter is my own special brand of healing, and I give it freely. I am still intending to produce comedy videos in the spring, and they are slated to be titled "Livin' Large with Tom Sawyer". YouTube will never be the same.

My written work is in the public domain, free for all to enjoy and share.

Many have said their thank you's to Steve, and I have done so in many places (including the Men's Room wall at the Sands Hotel) but I want to take the time, here, to personally bow and express how much growing I did on these forums. While he has never commented on any of my posts, anywhere, I trust that on occassion I inspired him, or at least provided a much-needed laugh. Erin, too. If I gave you laughter, I've done my job.

The future is up to each of us individually. I hope you all Provide A Caption of joy for yourselves. royster

You too, cd1.

The countdown begins. I will only be posting in this thread from here on out...except the "avatar" thread...I might respond to that one.

Only reminescent of the final PHC in 1986, the demeanor is still there, and appropriate for these last few hours.

Garrison Keillor's show always had home-grown dignity, but the final one in 1986 was well produced and billed. He of course came back some 18 months later and, even after a mild stroke, is still going strong.

I'd like to dedicate this to Dorothy, whose love for me prompted her to buy tickets to the "First Annual Final show" in Radio City Music Hall. She could ill-afford to do this, but that what Love does.

She passed away in 1995, but her spirit...and PHC...still live on.

Default In your Facebook!

I announced my departure from Facebook, and adhered to the very time I would go off of that 'forum'...is facebook a forum?...and so far as I know, few cared, and few stayed with me the final 24 hours. I think cacheborn was a frequent visitor. If I think about it long enough, I'll remember others. I "befriended" and WAS "befriended" by many of you here on Pavlina's forums, and in that heyday, I sure did have fun. This is a 'thank you' to many here for those days.

My playlist from that final; 24 hours I've already posted, and it's here on the F&R forum. I don't intend to repeat them, but i do intend to post some songs...for nobody to listen to, because I doubt anyone will.

But...if anyone wants to cyber spin some old 45's with me, you can use this link YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. to get to YouTube but not leave the thread. You can play a song and listen to it while reading the thread. Whatever. This place is pretty empty, and there can be no question I'm good at entertaining myself, if no one shows up.

My mother's death in March sent me out to Los Angeles for one final time. I drove her car back to Virginia, video taping the trip. I produced a video of it, and this is the sound track that takes the viewer through the Petrified Forest. The whole event was trying enough, but Janice was over-medicated and impossible, and I couldn't have possibly felt more alone...and yet SO CLOSE to God in my alone-ness, and the stunning sights I was driving through. Three times during some admittedly great video footage I pan the camera over to Janice, snoring in the passenger seat.

She's still pissed about those clips. She doesn't know the half of it.

If you missed the cosmic/spiritual events of the past 48 hours, then you missed some of the separation-and-new-regrouping that took place. You can talk about a 4th dimensional shift, but if you aren't paying attention, then you miss the important instructions. And those instructions inform you on what's happening, what to expect next, and how to survive it. You can go back and read my recent Chaotic Node/ Ascension First Aid posts and bone up on it, but you might have missed a very important installment of spiritual instruction and the unmistakeable First Symptoms of the Shift.

I started a thread about being in a garage band, and a few members shared there. It wasn't meant to be excluding of anyone, but if you aren't a musician, you don't understand.

This isn't a great song, but it captures a casual jam that the musicians are just there. Thank GOD for C/F/G .

Saxaphone sound is controlled by a reed that you moderate with lip pressure: those high notes aren't because he's blowing harder: he's got that reed in a perfect position that varies only 1/1000th on an inch.

It would just figure I'd sit here talking about how accurate lips can be.

I was just sitting in my kitchen, getting the wood stove going, and thought about my first Christmas here.

The house had been abandoned and vandalised for many years. There was plastic hastily covering the windows and I was confined to one room...it is now the kitchen...with a small wood stove I had no idea how to efficiently operate, and a mattress that was no doubt the literal spring-board for half of Toms Brook's current population. I had my life in a few boxes, and that was about it. I had a half gallon of Even Williams green label and coke-a-cola in returnable bottles. There was electricity, but that's it.

I remember that first Christmas eve well. And I had an unshakable sense that something remarkable would happen here, in this place, some day in the distant future.

I had my boom-box and Koss headphones, and as the liquor took affect, my senses encouraged me to write a grafitti on the plastic-sheeted window on the west wall. The words were simply:

A Legend Begins Here.

Guns N' Roses-Paradise City (Audio Only) - YouTube

My 35MM camera had a self-photo feature. I'm not flipping-off the camera: I'm pressing the headphone closer to my ear. My keyboard sits in front of me.
