| (sorry if it's the wrong forum, don't know where to put it) I would like to know what this Star Wars is all about... I've seen it on TV in the past, but it always seemed boring to me. Anyway now I'd like to see the movies, at least for cultural education. My main problem is: Where to start? Should I start with Episode IV. It's the oldest... but it's episode 4. Cheers! |

| This question is probably more appropriate for the Fun and Recreation folder, but to answer your question, Episode IV is a great place to start. It'll make more sense after you watch them, but you start with IV, then V, then VI. Then, go to I, II, and end with III. Alternately, you could watch them in "chronological" order (I - VI) which is something I've always wanted to do, but I have no idea how the story will feel at that point. Come to think of it though, Episode III ends on a pretty downer note, and isn't my favorite way to end a story. So maybe watching them this way would be better than how it was offered to the public originally. Anyway, it's a great story. There are a lot of fans (myself included) who think IV - VI were the best parts of the story, so if you go chronological, keep that in mind. |

| Of the six films made, three are good and three suck big time. Not bad with a 50 % hit rate still. So, watch: Star Wars (Episode 4 "A new hope"), The empire strikes back (5) and Episode III. Skip "Return of the Jedi" (6), Episode I and II, because they are not good.

I agree that the fuzzy (and not so fuzzy) critters in VI and I, especially, are distracting to us adults, and I'm not personally as fond of I-III anyway (Mr. Lucas had wayyyy too much money to play with, IMO) but COME ON! You can't not watch the last chapter of the whole story! Sheesh. I guess I've got some passion on this. Last edited by InJoy : 05-17-2007 at 04:25 AM. Reason: clarity |

| First, read Dune. Then, watch "The Hidden Fortress". Then, watch Ep 4 thorough 6, followed by 1 through 3. You may want to look into Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. It's much deeper than any of the SW movies. |

| You can't just watch some and not the others! I say to watch them in chronological order (Episode I - VI), which is what I did, and I loved them. But I can see where you guys are coming from, first seeing this monster that is Darth Vader, then how he came into existence. |

| Thank you, Restrikted! Avoiding spoilers here, weren't some of the surprises in V & VI blown by prior knowledge in III? I've always wondered about the experience of seeing the series in chronological order for the first time. |

| Ok, I used to be a fan. I have seen all the films of course. But I have seen "A new hope" and "The empire strike back" more than ten times each. "Return of the Jedi around 5 times. So far "Episode III" only two times, but it will be more. The other films only one time each.
