haha - I don't know where this really belongs, so I'll just put it into F+R.  My brother is here from Montreal and my cat really despises him! She'll hiss and growl incessantly if he is even remotely near her. She'll whack him one too if he gets too close. I've never seen her do this before. I've never had a cat do this before. Has anyone had a similar problem? The problem is that she just growled, hissed and whacked me one too even though my brother wasn't even on the same level of the house. Poor kitty. She is very upset, but I don't know why. She doesn't like strangers, but this seems more than just having 'another' stranger in the house. |

So true! But, if I remove my brother, where is he going to watch his Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? (He really is watching MMPR   )May be I can convince him to sleep in the basement. Quote:

Brother must appease the wrath of the cat by sacrificing a chicken, roasting it and feeding it to the cat. Or just by feeding the cat. Maybe your cat is resource-guarding you? I know some dogs do that. As in, you belong to her and she's upset that someone else than her gets your attention and affection. Hail to our cat overlords. |

Your brother and the cat were lovers in a past life and have karma to reslove . Your brother needs to do a past life regression to find thoes lives , how you get a cat to do past life regression is beyond me . desert rat

OK, Mr. Waxy. I think you ought to fly up here and have a one-on-one talk with little Maya. She'll sleep peacefully with me on my bed and then all of a sudden start hissing and slapping me in reaction to the sound of my brother's voice from outside in the hall. I guess all I can really do is wait it out and let her get use to him on her own time. Quote:

I find it cruel when people deliberately provoke their animals in a way that they find funny... Youtube is crawling with such videos... that is sort of funny though. Poor Bieber - hated not only by human kind, but by all of the animal kingdom Quote:

No, no! I appreciated it. I know you were trying to get me to laugh.  I think what the guy was doing was pretty mild in terms of provoking a response for his own amusement, but still, if I knew my cat got upset to the point where she'd hiss and claw at the picture of Bieber, I would make a point of not deliberately putting it in her face again. I don't think that clip was filmed spontaneously. May be it was. Quote:
