I was watching the tv on this sub station fire Transformer burning in Phoenix; no power outages | azfamily.com Phoenix I was thinking to my self , cant they use an oil that is less flameable ? This is on the other side of the valley from me , maby 30 miles away. I did see a tran. or cap go up in a termindious fire ball once , around 25 years ago at metro center . desert rat

I thought this thread was about transmissions and your clutch was going bad.

Yeah when those transformers explode, it's a real fireworks display.

As a matter of fact, d.r., I think they are working on a less flammable oil for them.

I know if I had some 55 gal. drums on fire in the back of my pu. and they were making a lot of smoke they would be all over my a** . I have had a few trannys ware out , and replaced a cluch and pressure plate for a std. trn.or 3 , I have had a lot of oil cooler line leeks , never had one of fire . desert rat
p.s. I wounder if that A.P.S. tran. was made in China ?
