Default I just left...

I just had to get out of there.

I had just under 6 weeks left of the time my employer said I had to find new work and be gone...but I couldn't wait...so I just left today.

I decided to after my supervisor basically said to me that I need to look after me and if my new employer needs to work out the roster, then I can just go...so I did.

It's just hit me now that it was quite an unorthodox way to finish a two year stint at a job. Usually there is a big fuss when someone leaves...even if their colleagues didn't like them, they will still make a who ha about it and pretend...but I just left. None of them were expecting it, and I didn't even say goodbye to half the people there...just the ones in my immediate environment.

I also got the impression that there was a major misunderstanding there, and that they thought I thought something about them that I didn't , when really I was thinking that they were better off finding someone better than I was at the job, because frankly...I sucked at it.

Anyway, I thought I'd start this thread for people who want to share any wacky moments of past or present employment leaving scenarios...

Sorry to hear E girl......I crapped my way into a job as a drinks waiter in a Chinese Restaurant when I was 18. Only lasted the night as I ended up serving Tia Marias in champagne glasses. The guests loved me the Chinese owner questioned my experience level and I left......hahahaha I stole a corkscrew though

Oh don't be sorry...it's FREEDOM for me. I never have to smell THAT smell again, or deal with my supervisor constantly yapping about her dog to me...ever again.

It's kinda funny too...after she got the boss to give me "notice"...her favorite china cups went missing?? I swear I didn't take them, but I think she had her suspicions that it was me being passive aggressive and getting my revenge...but I didn't do anything, and apparently I didn't have to. Some vengeful faerie was looking after me.

You're experience sounds kooky, in a good way.

God bless those faeries......I used to "exaggerate" my way into jobs a lot. Working on the law of averages that I might just pull it off......pretty difficult when you are applying for a position as a brain surgeon though <-----joke

Aha...my mother also has the gift of being able to "exaggerate".

I know a woman who was involved with a female sociopath, who she said actually DID con her way into the medical profession, and is currently a doctor at a Melbourne Hospital. She has never been to med school...which is extremely scary.

Wow that is scary...I never took it that far.....but my mouth used to run away with me at times.....once I was applying for a position at a TV station as a sound engineer I could see it was a lost cause.....I turned to the guy conducting the interview and said " who have ya gotta sleep with to get a job around here? " he was gay .......and he appreciated my direct approach so much that he took me to the pub and called my bluff......I snuck out the back door like the coward I am

Hoot! Good going luci! If I recall correctly, you disliked the job, right?

I still have two weeks left in my job. In a way, I'll be happy as I flat out hate the job at this point (it wasn't bad the first year; I even liked it). I'm worried about being able to find another job though. But I know what I'm like. If I don't leave this job, I'll never get off my ass to find another one.

Here is to better (working) days!

Thankyou. Yes, it is a huge relief. I'm like you though...didn't mind it the first year, then about 8 months ago I became aware that it was time to leave...we'd all gotten sick of each other...but the thought of job hunting was so daunting it just became a bit of a rutt, so it's good I found this other job...though I'm not sure how long I can hold out there...?
