They showed the cat making its way down , I think it has done it a few times before , and knows how to avoid getting hurt . It turned around and backed its way down .John and Troy are different guys , some times they appear togher in a broadcast FOX 10 News | Phoenix Metro Area News, Weather, Traffic and Sports desert rat

Yeah, I did see it in the first vid...so maybe it wasn't full of prickles, though I don't see how it could NOT have been? Maybe there was a critter hiding out watching and waiting to pounce on it and the cat figured with all the media attention, whatever it was wouldn't try and attack it with other people bigger than it around?

That's the only think that makes sense, unless the cat was a yogi in another life and was on a fast or something...lying on a "bed of nails".
