What personality trait does your pet have that remind you to incorporate them into your own PD growth? My cat has reminded me of the following: 1. Start the day early (she is up at 4:30 every morning) 2. Drink plenty of water 3. Greet everyone in a friendly non-assuming manner 4. Workout each day with enthusiam and variety (stairclimbing, running, pullups using the bannister) 5. Stay away from junk food (only cat I've met that does not enjoy treats) 6. Get plenty of rest (need I say more - she's a cat) 7. Spend time with those close to you 8. Set goals and be consistent until they are achieved 9. It's ok to be afraid of the unknown (ie thunderstorms or vaccums = under the bed) 10. Try to look your best everyday What personality trait does your pet have that your can incorporate into your own PD? |

How funny, I nearly started a thread on this exact topic a few days ago. My dog has taught me the importance of viewing life as a Grand Adventure. My cat has taught me about looking for what you want to see in others. When I'm grumpy with her or thinking of her as "DoomKitty," she bites me and steals my things. When I love her up and tell her how cute she is, she sleeps in my bed and asks for pets. |

Maya once showed me that our environment is whatever we make it out to be. She was stalking one of her toys around the couch one day and I got it in my head that it would be wonderfully fun if I got onto my 'four legs' and stalked her around the couch. So I did. It was very exciting and thrilling to peep around the corner 'stalking' my cat who also had on her 'stalker' look. At some point though, she had went around the other side of the couch, and when I was about to 'pounce', she pounced on my behind. I got so much fun out of something as mundane as the couch.

I love that story, it sounds a lot like what I get from my dog. I've decided that being catlike is a good thing to cultivate. My cat is mostly self possessed, except with the people she loves, and then she can really open up and be super affectionate and cuddly. She likes to snuggle in the middle of the night.

Its awfully cute how cats will go crazy over twist ties. Maya will throw them up in the air with her teeth and then do one of those crazy, kitten jumps where she does a cartwheel in the air. Another time, her precious little twist tie went scurrying under the fridge and she 'barked' out of frustration. It was very odd.
