I think that Storm's power would have great practical benefits to mankind. She could turn off natural disasters such as hurricanes and cyclones and torrential rain, when they threaten inhabited areas.

Wolverine's powers have great practical benefits to oneself. Specifically the healing powers and the super-immune system. You will never catch a cold, for instance.
