When I was around 5 or 10 I thought people on the other side of the earth spoke backwards. I ask my dad , why cant you smash atoms with a hammer ? He thought this was stupid , but I dont know if he knew why. Its that it takes a lot of energy to break there atomic bonds , or something like that. desert rat

I was playing xbox 360 at my friends house and I asked him, 'What button do I push to fire the weapon?' and he was like, 'Y' and I was like , 'I don't know, because otherwise I can't fire the weapon.' and he was like, 'NO! Y press the Y button.' Omg we laughed about that for like 20 minutes while playing haha. |

Here's one I had already forgotten. When I was little and my mom first told me about the school, I pictured something like this. There was a hallway with lots of doors that led to the classrooms. All the classrooms were designed for one pupil only. In a classroom, there was a wooden desk and a wooden chair. A pupil was sitting at the desk, facing the window. A female teacher gave her something to read or write and then went to the next classroom to give the same exercise to the next kid. |

When I was 10 I was still quite naive, and didn't know what a prostitute was. My older cousins taught me how to play poker, and when naming wild cards they referred to queen face cards as nicknames for ladies of the evening. Later when playing poker with my parents and grandparents it was my turn to be the dealer. For wild cards I named them to be... "Fours, whores, and one-eyed Jacks." Just like my cousins said. The look on my mom's face was priceless to say the least! |

A friend of mine was exasperated by always being served a breast of chicken. He wanted to have a leg some time. I told him it was because he asked for white meat only. Turns out, he thought the different color meat came from different types of chicken. He did know that chocolate milk did not come from brown cows though. |

Here's one for the stoners, and it's actually more trivia, but also a misunderstanding. We Americans have a knack for misunderstanding and saying things wrong. LOL It's not "kind bud", it's "kine bud". Derived from the Hawaiian phrase "da Kine", meaning "the one". So in speaking, one might say "That pakalolo is da kine!" Pakalolo being the Hawaiian/pidgin/local term for marijuana. Paka=tobacco, lolo=crazy. |
