So, is anyone else gnawing at their fingertips in anticipation? Honestly. Talk about Game of the Century. (Or Sandbox of the Century.) And we're only 5-6 years into it. I recently discovered a clip of Robin Williams messing with the creature editor on Google Video; a quick search should find it. What a vision!

I'm guessing it'll be released around June 2007. Pretty sure it's sometime in 2007. That's all the speculation that's occurred. @Alvin: Massively single-player! Revolutionary model.

| Isn't there a multi-player feature of some sort? Sort of MMORPG where players get to share worlds?

| It's not a multiplayer feature; the idea is that your creations are shared with other players, but the computer runs your creations when that happens. So it's always single-player, but your stuff gets shared with other people.

Just to clarify re: the multiplayer, it doesn't occur in realtime, but what happens is your generated content (creatures, building types, planets etc.) gets automatically distributed to other clients over the internet. So when I've built up my planet and go spacefaring, I could (eg.) discover the planet and civilisation that Michael created. But if I blow the planet up it doesn't affect Michael's game. P.S. to Michael; Yes, I'm clearly failing at this whole 'avoiding the forums' thing.

*somehow didn't see this post until now* I like how you're failing to avoid the forums.

Not too long ago a friend of mine gave me a link to a 20 minute demo video for (the game) Spore. Before I watched the video I knew a little bit about Spore, but other then that, I still had little idea about what the game was about exactly and what you did in it. Well, suffice to say that after watching the 20 minute demo I had a much more of an idea in regards to what Spore was about etc., and I would encourage you to check out the video if you are at all interested in Spore, or if you are interested in good, well designed games in general. Below I will include a link to the video, some links to some Spore-related websites that I found that you can go to for more info, and a few bits of info about the game. Misc: My country name is often abbreviated as 'S'pore', so I get seeing it whenever I look at Spore
