| I just wonder how much of complete consciousness animals have, here is the video where two rabbits start to "fight" and all of a sudden two chickens come in to separate them and stand there until rabbits cool off and leave. Video: Potukli se zečevi, kokoši ih razdvojile - DNEVNIK.hr |

| That video is definitely interesting. I have wondered if apes could learn how to knap flint, and apparently they can. I did notice during the video game segment (and the fire-lighting segment as well), that the ape was definitely being coached by her 'teacher'. I wonder if similar coaching was occuring while the bonobo was learning how to make a stone knife. I realize that the whole point of the program is to teach the Apes human culture, so of course the human teacher should try to facilitate learning in her students. It would be interesting to see some of the teaching techniques in more detail. |

| They did seem to imply in the video that they emphasize immersion over coaching or direct teaching. But I'm curious, too. There's more info on bonobos here: Bonobo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia At the beginning Savage says that they aren't a popular zoo animal because of their sexual habits, and if you look into it, they are ridiculously prosmiscuous, but highly complex habits, including felletio and even same-sex interactions. Talk about human-like.
