Underwear comes into 3 categories:
- sexy frilly type
- plain cotton type
- wear during your period type

When category 1 (when comfy on top of sexy) and 2 start having holes, loose elastic bands, stains, they get downgraded to category 3. Category 3 gets discarded only when they can no longer physically fulfil their underwear function.

I add to category 1 whenever the mood strikes and I have money, and to category 2 when necessary (if I have, say, less than 10 of them left. I need to be able to travel for a week without needing to do laundry).

I love your categories . Though I don't have periods so I'd replace it by "Laundry day" or "clean the house day" (I don't feel the need to be sexy when I clean...so it's tracksuit pants and ordinary undies!!!).
