| I'll take that as a wonderful compliment. High Priest, I enjoy smoking, when I do, which is rarely, usually any variety of substances, favoring cannabis, skullcap, blue lotus, salvia, pretty much never tobacco, definitely never crack cocaine (though I did try a hit once, curiosity will be the death of me) and other various herbs. I enjoy it because I enjoy exploring altered states of consciousness. As astronauts explore space, marine biologists the ocean's flora and fauna, archaeologists ancient ruins, I explore the many vistas of the mind. |

I've tried Blue Lotus before, but mixed with vodka and juice. it was pleasant, but I didn't get too much of an altered effect, just relaxed. I like to try everything...though I haven't tried crack either, or heroin (saving that til I'm very old and it no longer matters.) |

It used to be fun, to experience life differently. Then when I was high 24/7, it was fun not to smoke. Part was due to the escape feeling I got from my default-state of life, because I had problems I did not know how to deal with at the time. Not to say it isn't still fun every now and then. I enjoy the feeling of having all my emotions exaggerated. I don't like how it feels like parts of my brain are turning off. I'm speaking of weed. |

Good idea saving heroin until you're an old geezer (I hope you make it there with mind, body and soul intact

We smoked some during the day...with some slight effect too. I decided to make up the infusion that night...more from reading that it was used by ancient egyptians during ritual, and a friend had made an infusion which sounded interesting. Quote:
I have always wanted to try opium though. I was remembering the other day when an old boyfriend brought some opium poppies home one day with intent to scrape them. He'd just lost his father though, so I figured it was probably a good time for it. Last edited by elucidate; 04-03-2011 at 09:04 AM.

And personally I'm not a big fan of mixing different substances, at least not until I'm familiar with each substance alone. But some of the most effective visionary brews from indigenous cultures are mixes, like ayahuasca. Opium doesn't carry as much as a risk of addiction as heroin, but if you're psychologically down or in emotional pain of any sort personally I wouldn't try it until I felt happy and secure in sober state. Then again it can be a good medicine as long as it stays in that realm. Some people just don't develop addictions like others do though. But whoops, derailed the thread a little bit.

Ha, when I see the question "what does smoking do TO you" my first impulse/reaction is this: But it seems like the OP was asking what smoking does for you, which is not really the same... Last edited by Criseyde; 04-03-2011 at 05:50 PM. |
