Default Hello, What good things have happened lately in your life? :)

Instead of "How are you" or "How's life?"

Isn't this a question that would produce something much better?

What good things have happened lately in your life?

So...

Hi! What good things have happened lately in your life?

I felt the same way a few years ago, and decided to reframe the question to be "how are you feeling?" which I thought would help people focus on what they were really feeling instead of them just answering automatically "fine".

What good stuff has happened to me lately? I moved house and have a clean bathtub that I can actually take a bath in now.

My housemate has given me the use of her massage room to build a clientelle and supplement my income this way, as well as allowing me to hang my paintings in her waiting area (home based massage business)...so I can sell them privately and charge what I want.

All kinds of stuff. I've been working hard on PD for like year now, and recently it's all been starting to feel worthwhile. Mainly I just feel really good all the time and stuff doesn't phase me the way it used to. I found out I am going to get more free technical training at the job I learned last year (welding.) I found out I am less that one semester away from completing an associates degree and then can restart college as a junior who only has to take classes related to my major. And today on the steve pavlina forums I became a family member and got to two bars of rep. All of this is in the last week.

Got fancy kitchen put in,

Son is getting better at potty training,

Baby is growing fast and more "cutieful" and cheeky each day,

Husband watched the kids all day as I sorted some orders I had and got to finally start making all the designs I've had in mind into reality.

Oh, and it's a little bit sunny outside, always nice!

Thanks for asking RR, and great to read your updates too

Someone loaned me juggling torches.

I had a really nice day today, and I hope you did too!

My son had his first day of preschool on thursday. He's only going to go once a week for now, but he did really well. I stayed with him for the first hour and then I ran some errands, he was only there by himself for 2 hours...

The teacher is a girl I went to school with, so we know each other. She said he did quite well. He cried by himself after I left for 10 minutes, but after that he let her comfort him and sat in her lap and almost fell asleep!

I'm so proud of him for doing so well. I'm taking him to a little girl's birthday party today. I have to find somewhere to buy a toddler sized tutu...

I finished my first grad class and made an A. That reminds me I have to write a paper today about personality measures as a predictor of coronary heart disease....

I made a new friend over the last week and I feel closer to her in just the short time we've been talking than I ever have with any former female friend. It's pretty exciting and I'm very happy over it. It's always energizing to meet a kindred spirit.

Talking My New Friend

Oh! What an amazing coincidence! I've also made a new friend in the past week. She's much more than someone who's simply a close acquaintance; she's someone who I sense deeply is a true friend. I am very happy and grateful that fate brought us together. She is, without any doubt, a kindred spirit. LG:-)

I had two dates in one day. I am interested in seeing the first girl I had a date with again. The second one lead to a really awesome sexual experience!

I exercised yesterday. I am reading Busting Loose and am excited about applying it.

I got a new job with better/more consistent hours and opportunity for advancement. I have had some fun and interesting synchronicities lately.

I have been getting along with my roommate much better.

I feel like my emotional set-point has raised considerably over the last few months.

I'm guessing that kindred spirits have a "sixth sense"? Or maybe we're twins who were separated at birth. LOL! I think twins qualify as being kindred spirits...it's like they've got psychic wiring, aka "that twin thang". TTYL, LG:-)

I think it's just that we're mostly on the same wavelength so it makes it easier for our intuition to kick in. Just a theory.

Sorry for double post, but I didn't want to mix thought processes and make things more confusing because I'm talking about different people now.

I actually had two good things happen today so far:

1. One of my friends' mother is dying and when I checked Facebook this morning, it was at the perfect time because he had needed a friend and he had just sent me a private message there so I was able to be supportive to him at the time he really needed a friend. I am not exactly sure how comforting I was, but he seemed to be better for it (I hope). Given how upset he is overall, it's hard to tell for sure though. In any case, it made me feel good to be there for him at the right time.

2. Over the last couple of days on Facebook, I have been in private communication with an old acquaintance from my more active gaming days who was feeling discouraged over some art work that she had received some rather unwarranted, harsh criticism about. She was unable to assess the situation clearly because she was too close to it but it was obvious to me what was happening and I was able to help her see things a little more clearly. Well apparently, it helped her more than I had initially realized. This morning she sent me a PM on Fb telling me how much she appreciated that I took the time to explain how I saw things. She could now recognize it for what it was (jealousy because she could do her own artwork as opposed to others who couldn't). She had let go of the need for the approval she wasn't getting from those who should've been more supportive. She was just going to do her own thing and not let those people bug her. Later on this morning, she posted pictures of some of what she had done and they looked fantastic; certainly nothing warranting the harsh criticism she told me she had received.

So, I've had a warm and fuzzy feeling all day. And all I did was write a couple of PMs.
