Default Appreciate the Little Things

I often hear people telling others about these grand things others have done for them. But what about the teeny tiny things?

Well here's one from me to you. : )

After my ex and I broke over Thanksgiving (apparently someone wasn't all that thankful) I got to go back to school and have one of my favorite classes. German! Him and I have a mutual friend in that class who had just heard that day that my ex and I broke up. Since it was a Friday we were finishing a movie AND our class fundraiser of selling chocolates. While I was lost in the magical blue wolrd of Avatar (or, as he likes to say, Dances With Smurfs) he put a chocolate on my desk. I found it 7 minutes later when I came out of my trance.

IT was just such a nice little thing and always makes me happy when I think about it.

This one will take some 'splainin', Lucy, but it's in tune with your thread, cheesedoodle:

A perfectly round blob of expanding foam popped out of a hole I had filled it with. I let it dry, and later drew a face on it. It evolved further by placing it where I knew Janice would go sit. She got the greates laugh from that. She then got the idea to do the same, and I found it on top of the coffee can. HAH! I'll find another hiding space, and did...

later I put blue-tack on the bottom, so it could stick to surfaces but be removeable.

I'll finish this story after I scan this object, and explain its name.

By the way, cheesemeister, WONDERFUL idea for a thread. Sort of speads some good will.

Whoa; this thing looks more like some sort of "Ghost Busters" photograph. I've seen ♥♥♥♥♥ like this when I was coming out of drunken stupors.

Anyway, as time went on it became known as the "Grumball"...Grumbley Ball. It was a WONDERFUL SMALL THING that really was so simple, yet so fun. And it showed how much we knew each other, because the placement was always soon discovered by the Grumball-ee. We actually wore the original one out. I'll tell you something else, too: you can't purposely MAKE one ofthe darn things, they occur naturally. There was a second one, and he sort of looked like a Rasta-dude. This one is 3rd generation, and is still active.

He can be seen peering out from the bottom of this picture, right next to my 2-year sobriety chip.

This photo reminds me that my winter holiday, "Winter Potlatch" starts in a day or so.

I was supposed to go shopping with my bestfriend over the weekend, but I ended up not being able to go because my son's father was being an ass hat. Since the store we wanted to go to was going out of business my friend went by herself and took pictures of clothes she thought I would like on her phone, and then bought them for me! When she came by to drop them off I thought I would have to pay her back but she gave them to me as a gift because I was feeling down and she felt bad that I couldn't make it out shopping.

That was super nice.

Also, earlier this week I went to go get coffee at my local coffee shop (not starbucks. LOCAL.) and I had forgotten my wallet and the guy who owns the shop just comped by coffee and gave it to me for free. He said he was concerned about the other drivers on the road...lmao.

Haha, I love it. As soon as I saw the face it had me busting up. : )

I really appreciate small actions of sincerity and thoughtfulness. Grumball-ee looks very sincere and thoughtful.

Default and THAT reminds ME of a story...

Some-couple years ago, Janice and I drove 5 hours to Virginia Beach, to the Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Inlightenment center. We had bought tickets to see Dr. Masaru Emoto lecture. We got there beforethe lecture and were browsing around the book store. One book really caught Janice's eye. I could actually tell which book it was. Mainly because she was reading it.

When she wasn't looking, I bought it. I managed to get a pen and inscribed a loving message on the inside cover. When we sat down to wait for Dr. Emoto to come out and speak, I handed it to her. She was stunned to recieve it, and since money was tight, she decided she couldn't buy it for herself, so it came as a blessing.

As it turns out, that book was ahuge turning point for her spiritual metaphysics understanding, and became the bridge to other learning and interests.

The book was about Jesus and reincarnation.

BTW, the lecture was awesome.

Today my mom asked me to shovel the driveway. While I was out the nice neighbor boy who had asked me on a date last weekend walked over with his shovel and helped me. ^__^

When I noticed my hair was begining to freeze (mostly done shoveling at the point) he tells me to go inside and that he would finish it for me. ^______^
