Default Whats this whole idea of animals being dirty?

A couple of our birds, well their water in their water bowl had been getting really dirty

I went out and cleaned it out and put nice pure fresh water in the water bowl

The bird couple seemed pleased and excited and immediately went and had a bath together in the clean water.

Yes, this is what they do! They obviously value cleanliness!

They have done this many times, choosing to have a bath and a little dip in the water immediately as soon as the bowl is cleaned and filled with fresh clean water, but they never bathe in dirty water.

Interesting!

It's still sort of worrying though, with cats for example.. you know they're clean, cats are always clean and perfect. But you know, they go outside and pee and poopy and they probably step randomly where they recently peed, and then walk some more, paw-wash their face, clean their downthern parts and clean the rest of their body with the same tongue (why always the same tongue?!). Then we pet them and let them crawl all over our laps, and it's totally cool

I still think they're clean though.. somehow. Or maybe that's what they want us to think.
