| When people or a whole society head into uncertain times, it is not surprising for them to look back at when times were better. A time before we knew the cruel truths we face, which...incidently...head us toward uncertain times. Back when we had... Wax paper sandwich bags Returnable soda bottles Cracker Jacks Charms lollipops... |

Thanks for this thread, a nice excuse to dredge up old toy "friends" and remember them more clearly! My folks got me these (or similar sets) on various 70s Christmases, fun fun fun! ![]() ![]() Last edited by Wax Frog; 01-11-2011 at 03:58 AM. |

Wax, yours' reminded me of .wooden train tracks and train set .slot cars* .Lincoln Logs (which are NOW plastic, not wood) I played with toy cars for years, starting at age 3-4. I stopped playing with them about three years ago * Not to be confused with the vehicles in Las Vegas |

Isn't Cracker Jack something? When my Dad was young, the toys were metal, when I was young, they were plastic, and now they're pretty much paper! | |

When there were NO McDonalds. Wait, how long ago was that? When you'd walk to your local farm to get your dairy. I have a far away memory of being a toddler proudly carrying a tin milk can in one hand and my great-grandma's hand in the other. When poeple grew their own vegs (this is a fashion returning). When NOBODY LOCKED THEIR FRONT DOOR AT NIGHT. This must be my favourite one |
