I don't 'celebrate' in the usual sense. I am happy because people are happy and it's a convenient way to measure your progress.

But celebrating revolutions of one big rock around a medium sized star seems a bit arbitrary.

I most certainly celebrate. I do so by getting mildly inebriated, and then coming online to see who I can pester (yeah, I do that anyway, but somehow it's more fun with a bit of 'lubrication' ).

Does this mean I can ignore your birthday?

Normally I am on holidays during this time. I normally go see my family, make sure I don't do anything that would count as serious brain activity and have a New Year's dinner

Anybody having birthday here?

Heck yeah, I played a show on a rooftop. One of the better New Years I can remember, though they are always anti-climatic for me.

Yes, I do.

If I had to choose between Xmas and New Year's. I would always pick New Year's. IMO, New Year's is a new year literally. A new start, a clean slate. A new time. I get excited about that and hence celebrate

Nope I'm not . I am not on hols nor I am engaged in any serious work. It's very difficult to explain.
