Hi everyone I sorted out my work holiday sheet today and it turns out I've got June off and a couple of weeks in September (I have other time off, but this will definitely be with my family). There is a good chance that I won't be able to go anywhere with my family during this time, so I was was wondering where I might go? My default would probably be somewhere in Europe on my motorbike, but I'd like other ideas to consider (non- bike). I would want to do something different- I don't know what, but think more 'cool/ spiritual' and less 'getting drunk'. I would go to Thailand, but that's something I'd do with my wife, when she can come. I've always fancied learning Thai massage and would 'pad out' the trip with a cooking course, Muay Thai and staying at a Monastery. A few friends have been on sex holidays, but I think that time has passed for me I would appreciate ideas for 2 or 4 weeks, since I'm not sure which of these I may be free for. It would need to be fairly cost effective- I don't have a budget in mind, but I don't want to spend $10, 000 or anything soppy I guess what I'm asking is- where would be a great place to get a good life experience, which is not too expensive? Many thanks and happy new year to y'all Last edited by faithsdaddy; 12-31-2010 at 08:00 PM. |

Cost will probably be prohibitive for me coming to the States. It's a trip I'd like to do one day though. I read once that it takes 2 years to see America properly. A common holiday for us Brits is to come over for a fortnight and do Disneyworld, swim with the Dolphins, etc. It's the 'one' to do. Not relevant, but I thought I would mention it anyway

Plus, you're near Lisbon (for night life) and near the sea, as well. If you'd like a holiday by the sea to sit back, meet people and see the world go by then head for the Algarve. My next place to visit, hopefully, will be Lugano in Switzerland...but I chase green stunning landscapes (hence my nick
