Default Dream Cars

What are your dream cars? (You have all the money in the world.)

Me, it would be a Tesla
YouTube - Top Gear Tesla
if the range were better and there were a decentralized power source such as
The Bloom Box: An Energy Breakthrough? - 60 Minutes - CBS News
Wanting to be socially responsible is a big factor for wanting a Tesla.
To be honest, the roar of a big gasoline engine still makes my lug nuts tingle.

Like these babies:
Spyker

Atom Ariel

Then just for fun
1973 Mustang Mach 1

For a back in time cross country trip.

I've owned a lot of cars in my life; in Los Angeles, in my late teens, it was typical to buy a car for $10 or $15 and get a lot of use from it. Oh to have any of them now...'63 Thunderbird, '63 Corvair Spyder, '73 Gremlin.

I was going to produce a music album titled "A History Of Valiants And Ramblers" (to follow up my "Crosby Steals A Nash") but it never happened...my music partner-in-crime died in 1989, and it was all I could do to finish the work I was producing at that time.

I've always loved (well, since they came out) the '73 Hornet. I thought my dream car would be one with 4-wheel drive. I later bought am '86 Eagle wagon, and it was tired. AMC was soon to go out of business, and justifyably so. Alas, the last of the Ramblers.

It's a love/hate relationship with cars, anymore: they're horrible polluters, yet let me shift that F-150 into 5th gear and head on down the highway, pop in a CD (R.E.M.) and I find the love again.

Here is the 1964 Rambler American I had in 1976.

The family had a '63 Ramble Ambassador for awhile.
It trapped my dad's second hand smoke very well.

.
Here's my first love except mine was blue with a 3-speed six banger.
I successfully changed the water pump in a camp ground outside Atlantic City.
The first time I did anything mechanical to a car. It helped that I was too young
to realize that I didn't know what I was doing.
They were so simple then. I wonder if my Accord even has a water pump.

Gee, does THIS photo bring back memories!

I never had this model of Rambler, but i SURE remember growing up with them. This one had an optional "push button" transmission available that year.

I'm more caught by the "cup holder" indentations on the glove box door; that was standard-issue in those days, and many a cheeseburger got two hands to hold it 'cause there was a place for your soda.

I remember listening to the radio tubes warm up in my grandfather's '56 Chevy.
