Not much for me to explain about mine, but I've often been curious about the various user names and avatars. If you'd be so kind, please let the rest of us know what your public profile is all about. While I miss BillyTheAdult's cow-individual photo, I understand his present statement. |

My right eye with some photoshop effects. So the NSA can't identify me. I used to name my computers after my general state of mind at the time. For a while, it was searcher. Then I wanted to sort all the data I found while searching - sorter. Then a few others but sorter stuck. Not a great story but ... . Last edited by sorter; 11-12-2010 at 05:42 AM. |

Um...I was able to upload my avatar photo as my personal pic but I couldn't find an "Edit Avatar" button anywhere--? Anyhoo, Hobbes pouncing Calvin is my mantra--"Go for it, have fun, make the most of the moment!" One of my nicknames over the years has been Tigger, so there you go. Quantum Blue stems from my research into the nonlocal nature of quantum energetics and information coupled with the soothing nature of the color cobalt blue. I can stare at it all day.... ...drooling.... |

"royster", of course, is simply Roy with a suffix. The avatar I usually sport is one of my dog, Sunshine, and I...one of my favorite pictures of her. A client I was working for took it (I perform home improvement) in his back yard. She trotted by my side for 11 wonderful years, welcomed anywhere she went. She was very well-behaved. While some forum members think she is still alive, I lost her to cancer about 5 years ago. She's still a big part of my heart, and I learned volumes about love from her. |

You become a "senior member" after your 100th post. I don't remember when "family member' kicked in, but we all have a long ways to go to catch up to Angela. Last edited by royster; 11-12-2010 at 04:01 AM.

I hate picking handles. When I signed up, I was (still am) feeling that due to things out of my control, my whole life plan was trashed, and therefore I no longer have a map to follow and need a new one. Then I put the Yoda quote in my sig. because it is one of my favorites, as is the scene in the movie it is from. Then, it was crap I need something for an avatar. Yoda was the natural choice then. |

The image on my forearm isn't a traditional tattoo but one made from henna, a plant similar to tea. It's an ink that is drawn onto the skin and so is temporary, typically wearing off after a few days. I got it in Austin, Texas from some artists who were hanging out outside a coffee shop. Typically henna tattoos are abstract (curves, spirals, etc.) but I showed them a cartoon I had made of a guy with a dog's head and asked if they could draw this on me. They laughed, agreed and added a few touches (the buckle on his belt is an outline of Texas). We had fun with it, it was a fun encounter. |

My avatar is just a happy thought for me. I love the 90's (at least being a kid in it) I played hide and seek all day (Dawn til like 8pm) and is still what I consider my favorite time of my life. The ONLY TV I watched were Saturday morning cartoons which consisted of the Pink Panther and Woody the Woodpecker My name is just a nickname my father gave me, my real name is just Ricky |

Midniteshowers is something that I have been using for... Hmmm.... wow, 12 years now! I love when it rains at night, the sound it makes on the windows, the smell, even the thunder and lightning. A lot of people will see my email address (witch is the same) and think it means something dirty and make a laugh at it. My avatar is a picture taken of me this summer, I dunno, I just like the realness of using my actual picture. Well, that's my story... |

My avatar is me when i first tried out a crossbow. It wasn't easy by the way. The name I just got from formulating words that sort of describes me. When my mind is set to something i want to do or want to say, i do it and say it. That's mindset for you. |

Kudos for trying the crossbow, though. You just notched up a couple of slots in my respect for you. I've always wanted to try a crossbow. Footbows fascinate me even more. My avatar is just the symbol for Zen.

Firefly has a few meanings for me: 1. a lightning bug (its so cool to bring the light everywhere in life with you), 2. combining of Fire (passion for life, inner fire) and Flying (freedom and being able to express yourself). 55555 just a fun number,I always thought that 5's look like they smile I change avatars, its either my pictures or avatars with Fire. Maybe some day I'll make one that combines both :P |

PraetorianX. I chose this because I like history and the times of ancient Rome as well as other parts of the past, but at the time I was also watching the series about Rome. Also, the Praetorian Guard is basically the bodyguards of Roman Emporers and my friends tend to joke around saying if they ever needed a bodyguard that they would have me come along. The X portion of it however is because I see X as being a statement about noone being above the other. What I mean by that is that 'X' can be any number and does not stand out above any other number. So if we are all X, then we are all of the same importance and all the same in an esoteric way. Does that make sense? |

I already explained my user name on that one thread I use for ranting: Quote:
The picture is one from a hiking trip I was on a few years ago. I like how it's a kind of non-avatar. It's there but it doesn't really show anything but a bad haircut.

I got tired of my sunset and it's been too overcast for new photos, so now it's my dogs. I've used Medea for over 12 years. I was demanding something from an on-line bud and for emphasis told him I was not Penelope waiting for her sailor to come home. Hence, another voyager, a little closer to my essence, although I'd have started with the Argonauts and finished long before I got to the children. |

I thought it sounded cool. There are layers of meaning beyond that but I like to leave people guessing. The one thing I'll share is a personal tagline I've never used anywhere-"The end of ignorance." That's what me changing to this name represents. (Oh if only we could import posts and rep from dead accounts.) As for my avatar... What? You think I took a pic of some dude and just put it in the box? That's me all the way. Not that I'd mind something a bit more abstract but I am waaaaay too lazy to dig up a replacement right now. |

I had left the flute assembled and out in the air for a few weeks...it tarnished black and i was so upset with myself. Then an opportunity came for me to just sit, relax, and polish my flute. It was at my friend's 70th birthday party, and the avatar picture I'm presently using is right after I had polished the flute and cleaned it. |
