Because you wouldn't know you feel good when you feel good otherwise.
And even if you did, it's less boring that way.

that's what I used to believe, too. But now I am asking myself "how do I know..?"

How do you know that feeling good could be boring someday? Do you ever felt good for a long period of time? If it's combined with hormones etc. then the body reaction should stay the same, shouldn't it? I don't think the body can get "resistent" from it's own hormones?

Plus: You can't feel bored, if you feel good all the time.

I'm curious, if this "you wouldn't know" theory is not just something our parents have told us and we still believe today. Mhh..

Life is full of cr@p, which come mainly from the actions we take in order to get what we want and be happy (or the risks other take for the same reason). It's a circle, kind of. Do you hear God laughing or what?

I felt good for almost an year continuously. I had the most intense experiences of my life and the exterior did not have the power to influence me in any way. Some pretty bad things happened around me occasionally but they did not get me down. I was just immune. I have no words to describe just how cool life is when you are like that. The reason I gave that up was a big mistake, believing people around me that said "It's not normal to feel good all the time.. it's not Human" and the fact that I didn't get inspired to make music anymore. I found out later that the lack of inspiration had other causes.

It's not normal, it's not human, you need bad to have good, there needs to be a balance etc. I don't even understand how & when people get these bulls**t ideas in their head. And at the same time.. they dream of a heaven where they will feel good all the time

And the interesting thing about feeling good all the time is that if you learn it, even so called "bad" emotions will feel good. You will like to "play" with a "little depression" now and then. You will like how it feels and you have total control over it.

Still, nobody gave me a GOOD reason why it's good to not feel good. I want a good, solid reason, something similar to saying: "It's good to have a penis because you can have sex with it"

It's good to not feel good because when you don't feel good, there's something to learn here that, if you were to learn it, you'll expand your resources for getting the results you want -- like feeling good.

Otherwise said, feeling bad is a GOOD way to realize that you don't wanna go DOWN that path. After you realize that, it's time to feel good again

Because humen can't always figure out just by logic what's good and what's bad for them. Well, more than animals obviously, but it's a survival thing.

Also it's good for science, and therefore important about our place at the top of the food chain. There cannot be real advancement if everyone's happy with the current resources. We probably wouldn't even have PCs right now. The ability of humen to feel bad may save the planet from meteorites some day. That's something worth all the sadness

It's good to not feel good at times because it makes you appreciate the little things in life. To not feel good just only goes to show that we're not perfect and that we're human and normal...

When we realize that, then we feel good about ourselves again.

Because by not feeling good you realize the value of feeling good. And then , the next time, you wont get into some crappy b******t that talks about balance.
I think its not balance but about raising your overall vibrations. When your vibration level is high, this means that even what you term as ' not so good a feel' is much better than most people's ( at lower vibrational level) 'good feel'... there will be those fluctuations but at a higher level.

some poor sucker has to give psychiatrists (aka shrinks) $$$ to exist.
There are Mansions to pay mortgages on,
the latest cars to pay loans on, plus
they have their own psychiatrists (aka shrinks) to pay for.

Otoh, you could JUST SIMPLY DECIDE TO ENJOY LIVING ->ABUNDANTLY HAPPY... as THIS is how God created you to begin with
