Default Steve Pavlina Forum Addicts Thread

I actually just had the thought "I'm afraid I'm so addicted to the Forums I will starve to death"

After having not eaten for a long time, and not having the motivation to get away from the forums, even to go to the kitchen, no matter how bad my hunger pains were last night.

Yeah, I was lucky enough for Telstra to ***-up my connection for a couple of days so i had a forum break and was very productive. Connection is back now...oooooh noooooo... (still productive but can't help coming back to the desk to check a few topics...just 'cause).

I can never leave...never!!!!

People keep replying to what I say then I just have to come back and read what they wrote and I get taken in and might feel like replying, and by that time there are new posts in other threads that I just have to read too..

It just goes around in a vicious circle

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

You know what I think this is self sabotage. After a few weeks of fairly successfully doing the one week off one week on thing, now I've suddenly lost it and spiraled into a lost cause forum addict

like it's major subconscious self sabotage and trying to balance things out since it wasn't "normal" for me to do so much work and my subconscious can't handle that so is fighting back by making me feel like doing nothing but being on the forums and never leaving, and anything else is too stressful or boring and not worth my time.

Sad. Very sad.

And you do that by exposing to them the addicts the terrible terrible secrets and underground illegal activities this forum is involved in don't you. They are so shocked they never return to the forums.

This forum is my bread and butter. It is my night and my day. It is my daily bread, my daily wine, my daily thanks. It is my mother and father. It is my sisters and brothers. It is all and everything.

I occasionally get this symptom. In that case I go cold turkey and remove my internet connection and go for a walk or something.

Don't worry love I am sending you a food parcel, it comprises

a mouldy egg I just couldn't eat.
A manky banana the monkey threw out its cage.
35 grains of rice
9 polos
1 frie
13 chicken giblets
3 beans
9 dead rats I found in the dumpster out back.
1 bottle of rum curtesy of my health store
1 egg shell (I know you have a penchant for cooking these in the oven)
1 rubber glove
3 smarties
2 bits of used gum, (I chewed them first to save your jaw)
Some used knickers
and finally a used condom, (to put your rubbish in after).

I am so bloody considerate, no no no no no no no no no no no no thanks needed. Its quite alright, I know you would returnt the favour darlin'.

Love you like a bit of bread loves mopping up brown gravy.

You may also try to distract yourself from the mounting feelings of emptiness. You may find yourself more prone to procrastination. Perhaps you’ll catch yourself spending inordinate amounts of time web surfing, checking email, watching TV, or playing video games. The pattern will be that you’re desperately trying to recreate a feeling of connection in your life. You’re trying to re-ground yourself.
Steve wrote that for you, Ruby.

You are surfing the forums, the forums are part of the web, ergo you are web surfing.

Didn't mean to discourage you. I thought you'd be happy to see that others know what you're going through.
