I've apparently maxed out my photo album quota on this forum. that might be a good thing, duhnoh. No competition at all for fur-balls, beast. Here's the rock-n-roll cat himself. Sorta blends into the woodwork, ay? (BTW a recue cat, and now he rescues me). YouTube - Fontella Bass - Rescue Me Last edited by royster; 01-30-2011 at 12:31 AM. |

Orion, my other man. He's a rescue Shetland sheepdog, about 18 months old now. We know nothing of his previous life. He's been with us since last August and we've been clicker-training with great success. He's shy and sensitive like a lot of Shelties (to the point that we suspected he had been abused, but who knows) and positive training has worked wonderfully with his personality. I think it helps that like a lot of working breeds he wants to please so! hard! And he's smart and cuddly. ![]() ![]() Training: Running: Whyyyyyyy do you do this to meeeeeeeee... When he arrived in our home he didn't know what trees, grass, birds or puddles were. We suspect he had been strictly an apartment dog, and he had development issues because of this. He had trouble climbing stairs, he was unfit, he ran into objects... I take him pretty much everywhere - hiking, climbing boulders, to the beach, swimming in lakes, walking in the city, in bars, to picnics, everywhere - and it's been amazing how much he's blossomed and developped new physical abilities. She is a real sweetheart, really outgoing and playful, affectionate and loving. She's still a puppy, so of course she eats everything she can find and has chewed up all my shoes, but she's still the best doggie I ever could have asked for. I can't wait until she calms down a little, though! | |

A Polaroid photo of Sunshine. She is laying on the carpet I just glued to the floor of a tobacco shop I built. The sliding glass doors are the humidor. I post this because Monday I will give the picture to the owner: Steve, the original owner, died suddenly last year from an aneurysm. His widow continues to operate the store. Not sure how this will come up... Last edited by royster; 01-30-2011 at 02:13 AM. |

I don't have any pics uploaded, but I have a wonderful hound dog named Bennett (who I mostly call "Mr.B"). He is a rescue, I've had him for 3 years and 7 months now, and supposedly he is about 6 now (although i suspect he may be a little older). This was the warmest weekend we've had since October. The local dogpark is being rebuilt, so I took him to a different dogpark this weekend. It was a bit of a drive, but worth it. He got to spend about 2 hours in a wooded area playing with about 50 other dogs. I also took him to the vet this weekend for his shot that he has to get once a month, and to refill one of his prescriptions (he's got Addinson's disease & hypthyroidism, but the medicine he's taking is very effective). He's the world's most expensive free dog! I sure am lucky to have him, he's sweet as can be. I take him to work with me, and it sure is great to be able to do that. |

I'm sure you all recognize the pic that I changed back to. Khaos was the dog that I took with me when I left my ex-husband. I was living in an apartment and she was miserable. She missed the other german shepherd and she hated not having a yard of her own. So I brought her back to my ex and visited her when I could. My ex moved to another state and I have not seen my Khaos in over a year. Well, she died today. Her kidneys failed. Needless to say, I am heart broken. I hope she is in a better place and running around in doggie heaven with all the yard space she could ever want to have and many other puppies to keep her occupied. I love you Khaos!!! |

I'm sorry to hear about Khaos, shasah. It sounds like she lived a good life with people who cared for her very much. I miss my animal companions that have moved on too, but at least the good memories are still there. Still, that doesn't change that they are gone. I still wake up sometimes with the strong desire to see my cats again.

My heart goes out to you, Shasah...I know how much Khaos meant to you in your early days of breaking the chains, and how much of a joy those dogs in that very picture brought you. I remember PMing and posts about them. If you are sensitive, the dogs' spirit is probably visiting you. Much love and care to you, Sis. |
