I've never seen any of these. Can you give a brief description and why they had such an impact on you?

The last movie I saw that impacted me was "Mysterious Skin". It is not a new movie, but I saw it on DVD recently. It had an disturbing impact because of the subject, child molestation and its aftermath.

Also recently saw the documentary "No End in Sight" about the mismanagement of the war in Iraq. Tragic.

Very quickly:

For decriptions, check out the IMDB, they have summaries, casts and whatnot.

I'll just comment on the ways they touched me:

Peaceful Warrior: about doing what you love, against all the odds. Focusing on the voyage, not the goal. Being aware and deciding in the now. About not blaming anything on others.

The Forbidden Kingdom: The soundtrack, especially the intro title, stirred me, somehow. In some way, the whole movie feels like recharging my inner batteries. Maybe it's the "anybody can do great things" theme, I can't really say.

Watchmen: Outstanding atmosphere! The soundtrack and the movie work together to create a somewhat melancholic scenario with the most human "superheroes" I ever saw. The good and the bad, side by side, and in the end, who knows what's what anymore?

The Boat That Rocked: Another variation on the "do what you love" theme. This one rocks. Literally. And it has STYLE.

Much Ado about Nothing -

Just makes me feel all squishy inside - can watch it over and over again, my husband just says "how can you be watching that again". He listens to songs over and over again why can't I watch a movie over and over again? I didn't even think twice in one night and again the next day was too much

Pride and Predijuce does the same thing for me.

What can I say? I'm a girl.

OK, you've convinced me to watch at least these 2, they sound very motivational!

I peeked at your website. Surprised most of it is in German, but the english ones made me realize the underappreciated nature of poetry. I loved it as a child but abandoned it as an adult. Thank you for reminding me of the value.

The Rocky and Rambo series'. Seeing how hard Stallone worked on both of these movies really inspired me. I bought some soundtrack music and have been walking around punching the air.

The movie that impacted my life from the beginning:

The Crow (only the first one)

I think that through this movie, I could have subconsiously manifested the death of my fiance right after our baby was born.

Since then, there have been others...

The Last Samauri
This movie inspired me to open my mind to other kinds of people, other ways of living, and the ability to respect things that I formally would not.

Donnie Darko
Inspired me to contemplate the different aspects of reality and perception.

Requiem for a Dream
Reminded me about the aweful self-destruction of associating with drugs and the attachment to money.

The Bourne Identity
Everytime I watch this movie, it puts me in a mode to amplify all of my actions and results regardless of any bounderies I may have. It also inspires me to develop many aspects of self-discipline to help support these actions and results.

Wall-E
This struck a very deep note in me concerning my cause as a father to my daughter. Let's just say, it inspired me to take action to give her a better life with me.

The Punisher
Helped me to realize a set of values that I need to hold close to myself concerning the invasion of other people into my life.

These are some, and there are more but I'm in hurry here and well, I'm sure you get the idea.

Hm, I think it was called "unthinkable"??
If I am incorrect someone know what I am talking about? Muslim terrorist using bombs to try to bring back the troops, he was American I believe.

Had Samual L. Jackson, really deep and snatched the comfort blanked I wrapped myself in since 911.

That might be because I am German. I'm very happy you got something out of it. It feels nice when your "work" is appreciated. :-)

About movies:

I just watched Zombieland, and while it certainly isn't one of the most inspirational movies out there, even this one reminded me of the simple wisdom of enjoying the small things, every day. There is learning everywhere, we just need to see it when it hits us in the face....or tries to sneak quietly by.

Many years ago I saw Donnie Darko and it changed me a lot for quite some time. Truly amazing vibe to that movie.

Inception!

Do you want to take a leap of faith? Or do you want to become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone?

That reminds me of something that happened yesterday that I wanted to write about.

I loved Zombieland!

The impact it had on me is when I realized:

I like unrealistic good endings! They remind me of real life!

Loved Inception as well.

Other movies:

Clash of the Titans: especially when I realized that I was on the side of the Gods the whole time, and thought that those puny humans should learn their lesson and not be so ungrateful!

The Dark Knight: When I realized that you get out of life what you put into it.

Valkyrie: Made me so much more aware that truth is a perception. (was he a traitor or a war hero?)

Into the Wild (2007)

Love this film, Emile Hersch is great, I really understand Chris McCandless, the direction by Sean Penn is amazing...

Prayers for Bobby (2009) (TV)

I'll never watch this film again, it makes me feel very angry, it's a tale of redemption in the end..

Touching the Void (2003)

Joe Simpson's epic, just an amazing story...

North Face (2008)

The first attempts at climbing of the North Face of the Eiger...

Hmm just realised they're all true stories!

Kill the referee is also worth a mention. After watching football for so many years, to get this perspective was great. Its transformable to other aspects of life.
