Hi, I hope is the right place to post it. I think today my creativity doesn't work well. But, I need it. So can you help me with that? I need help to find a table topic artivity for my toastmaster group. It must be related to objects. Exemple, if you were a objects (or things) wich one it would be and why? Similar to it, but more creative. Thank you Hugo |

We did one where someone put some objects in a lunch bag and you had to feel it with your hand and describe it and see if people could guess what the object was. We also did one where people were given a choice of objects that they then had to "sell" as though they were on an infomercial. That was fun. You got to pick the object you were interested in instead of someone handing it to you. |

One time in a Toastmasters meeting someone brought a bag of the most obscure objects in for Table Topics and, when we picked an item out of the bag (I don't think we were allowed to look), we had to describe what it is, and I believe, where we got it from. That exercise was evil! If you live near nature, what you could do is get a whole lot of things you find there--rocks, things from trees, maybe a flower, a stick, leaves, etc--and hand people one of these objects and ask them to describe what the object reminds them of--either a story from their own life experience, or a memory of maybe something they've seen on TV, or read about. Whenever I did Table Topics, I always designed it with a goal in mind--i.e. what particular skill did I want to help them to improve with the exercise? Usually I'd decide that first, since it made it easier for me to figure out what type of Table Topics questions or props would test and train those particular "muscles." |

Never been to toastmaster, but: What object would you fall in love with? Pretend you are in love with an object and describe it to the rest of the group as your new boyfriend/girlfriend. Which object would be most likely for world domination and why? (can only choose non-electric objects to make it really fun). |

Create a Thing in a Jar and then converse about what it might be. What mad scientist might have created it, and why it died/was killed. Whatever the outcome, you'll have a table topic that WILL be remembered. Last edited by Mynder; 10-16-2009 at 05:49 PM. |
