I'm doing some research for a story I want to write and I'd like your opinion or possibly your expertise

If someone could fly but they had no wings, what would allow them to do so?
I was thinking that they could control gravity, but that is a huge power, if someone could control gravity what would they be able to do?

What would you do with such a power?

I think the likelihood is if you could control gravity it would cause mayhem. I don't know if you ever saw Bruce Almighty but there is a scene where he is on a date and he brings the moon closer to the earth so that it looks bigger and more romantic. However, the increased gravitational effect of the moon on the sea causes tidal waves and unintended chaos.

Instead of controling gravity they might be able to control their own body´s magnatism.

So that the earth repells them instead of attracts them?

Or maybe they can manipulate their own body to become very light, so they can float?

I Imagine they could "thicken" the air around them so they could "float" like in a swimming pool. When you push off the bottom of the pool you just kind of glide to the surface.

I would ban the stairs/elevators. I would just dive in to the ground floor through my balcony

Controlling gravity could be done with an Alcubierre Warpdrive, a theoretical device. It would allow you to travel long distances almost without moving. The only problem is that it uses obscene amounts of energy and technology that does not exist today.

Alcubierre Warpdrive idea comes from the graduation project Miguel Alcubierre.
