They often offer the question, what would you do if you had a million dollars, or perhaps unlimited money. Then there is if you had 3 wishes from a Genie of a lamp. Perhaps its just me, but I think differently when thinking as a Q rather than the others. Maybe its the trekkie in me? Thinking of it now, I'd probably understand the harmony of all the things I'd want to change, and therefore probably not want or need to change them. But saying I didn't, I'd probably level the playing field for all humans. Making food, shelter, health, and education available to all. I dunno but i have this notion that the all the unemployed or bored people, if given the knowledge and skills, could then create a master mind that would exponentially shift our civilization's direction. Fun to think about, at least for me. |

I'm not a trekkie (though the SF lover in me has a niche for that imagined world), so maybe the answer is out there and I'm just ignorant. Anyway, don't the Q tend to be arrogant and insecure? If so, why? I'm betting whatever the source, I'd find it a deal-breaker |

The Q is a collective of omnipotent* beings, mainly represented by actor John DeLancie, who meddle in human affairs, for reasons I won't bore you with (especially since I'm not remotely as well-versed in the lore as others) *at least that's what they want you to believe As for genies? In the usual stories, you are limited to 3 wishes, but even if the limit were objectively true, workarounds are no trouble at all. Here's my solution:

But my point was that you already HAVE all the power of the Genie - to get anything you want - so you don't NEED her 3 wishes. And, you are just as powerful as this Q character as well. You gotta start believing it Mr. Frog - I'm sensing some resistance from you. |
