What would you do with your very own personal secret society? One with influence over every government on the planet (including the military branches). And effective (covert) control over all the major media outlets, and hollywood (and bollywood), and all the education systems on the planet; and, of course, total unchallenged (and unaccountable) power over all the central banks in the world, and thus all the economies. Throw in command of the mafia and other organized crime, for good measure. With you at the top as Uber Ultra Mega Grandmaster (or Grandmistress), of course. ie, directive power over all capabilities of the apparatus. How would you exercise those capabilities? To what end? What would you want to cause in the world? Me? I'd probably order that someone immediately go out and buy me some ice cream (and don't dawdle!). Probably cherry ice cream (oh indulgent me). |

While sheep's milk ice cream would be high on the list, to ensure many years of ice cream consumption in the future I'd have the media (particularly Hollywood) begin projecting positive views of long, vibrant life while initiating a global Manhattan project for radically extending healthy lifespan, with the goal being to make death an option rather than a given.

I'm with the wandering Ent ^^^^^ I'd probably put out a bunch of propaganda supporting the advancement of science while developing a common enemy in broad human unpleasantries (like instead of making Sunni Muslims fight Shi'a Muslims I'd make them both fight poverty). I'd build the identity of mankind not on a nationalistic or patriotic level but on a conceptual level (as in, "We stand for progress," rather than "We are Americans.") I'd also promote regionalism and attempt to increase the self-reliance of all individuals (in terms of conscious growth). This would be promoted in all the schools. NLP, self-hypnosis techniques, nutrition, herbology and other self-development techniques are taught alongside academic core subjects (which are obviously important). Regional food sufficiency would become a reality in most parts of the world, and where that proves difficult, the large quantities of collective science research would quickly stem that. I'd also put money into making daily workflow processes more efficient. As in, remove the need of garbage men, sewer cleaners, etc. Put research into automating more and more of our lives. I'd advertise through all media how having an energy inefficient lawn sucks and how all your neighbors will envy you if you grow a self-sustaining permaculture garden in your lawn instead. Thanks to advertising, eventually, they will. And the lawns of America will transform into lush food gardens that require little maintenance because 1) Everything is automated and 2) You are working with nature. That's it in a nutshell. |

1 of 6 humans on the planet are starved. I would bring food to them, and I would get rid of those corrupted people who might try to prevent food from reaching them.

I'd hire those bankers who managed to turn a huge profit in the financial crisis, use their brains to monetarily fuel my war machine, train people into super villains, equip them with futuristic gear, and establish a threat for all mankind. All governments of the world will be forced to put aside their differences in order to turn away this global threat, and humanity will soar to new heights in this illusory struggle.

I'd probably retreat to an alternate universe and live on a planet identical to Earth only without the people. While there I would watch with interest from afar how the reality of humanity progressed. As Q, I would think non-interference would be the benevolent action to take.
