I voted no because Erin obviously doesn't want to cut her hair! And who am I to decide, anyway?

Also, I have a strong preference for long hair. The short hair looks good, but the long hair looks better, in my opinion. Of course, I'm biased... my hair is very long too.

In fact, Erin, I'm curious. How long is your hair? Mine is almost past my butt now (but I'm pretty short).

Last year at this time I was suffering with a short haircut!

I've seen your photos and I have curly hair like you do. Now that my hair is long again, and all one length it looks so much better and is so much eaiser. Short hair made me feel like a middle aged housewife. I hated it, and hate is not too strong a word.

It is hard to pull off short curly hair. I think short can look great if you have straight hair, otherwise it just looks bad.

You're a desert girl and so am I. You can wear your hair long and straight if you want to. See a good stylist and get long layers that work with your curls.

I find it interesting this is coming up after your trip to the tropics. God knows the curls I get in that kind of humidity! I've alway been envious of those girls on the beach with their long straight hair that just looks better and better the more they swim!

It's your hair, but I think you'll find with your kind of hair that short will make you look older and will be a hassel.

My cut really threw me for a loop. I went through a depression, (how shallow is that?) I will never cut my hair short again. A year later I am once again getting compliments on my hair. I feel like me again.

Think twice about this! I had a devastating experience!

Great idea! Have also been contemplating cutting hair short from very long length...

You look great in the shorter length. Thumbs up if that's what is drawing you right now... Cutting or radically changing hair can be such a liberating act. Great way to set the tone for a new "era" in one's life.

Now, it's only right that you apply the TLP model to your scalp. You could end up with erinpavlina.com shaved on the back of your head.

Hi Erin, quick question. Are you making your decision according to the outcome of this poll?

Neck & neck here people! Time to save some serious locks!

Erin..... you should ask your guide's opinion. There must be a good hairstylist in the other realms?

I voted no, I love longhair and think you look way better with longhair.

I've got longhair myself too (I'm male), it took me a while before I had the courage and persistence to grow it like I wanted all those years. To bad not a lot of men have longhair and a lot of woman with beautiful hair decide to cut it. Hope you don't become one of them but it's your hair and your decision.

I think the way you had your hair in the second photo is by far the prettiest and most suited hairstyle for you, It's not too short but just the right length to compliment your face. Just my opinion though :-)

Default Which do you prefer, Steve?

Who sees Erin the most? Although Erin sees herself in the mirror and it is of course, her hair, maybe she could base her decision on what you want the most, Steve, since you probably look at her the most? This is one way a partner can show that they care about what their mate wants by altering or keeping their looks to fulfill the preferences of their life partner.

I believe when you get to a certain age, longer hair pass the shoulders doesn't suit many women. I prefer short hair on Erin. But what about meeting half way and going shoulder length?

Does it not suit them, or do they just lose interest in the maintenance? I'm in my mid-forties but I still have long hair. I also don't have that much gray though, less than 5%—many women my age have a considerable amount, and so they resort to dying it (and I guess dying long hair would be a PITA).

However, Erin has gorgeous red hair, so that's obviously not a problem.

Did anyone else think Mulder and Scully when they saw the second pic? It's uncanny!

Erin,

When I saw the thread title, I thought 'no', but when I saw the pics I thought 'yeah'. Can you tie it up or use a wig to kinda simulate the effect and see what you think?

PS trust no one.

With the short hair, she has a slight resemblence to Molly Ringwald from Sixteen Candles....
