Default Vacation Slides: My Day At Neptune Beach

On Tuesday, I finally got to visit Jacksonville's beautiful Neptune Beach for a day of fun and sightseeing. My sister graciously used her digital camera to document my wonderful adventure. Let me tell you all about it.

Here I am in the car, making my way towards Neptune Beach. I am very excited-I brought an MP3 player full of JAM Project to listen to along the way!

Here I am enjoying the cold, refreshing waves of Neptune Beach. It was very hard to see anything underwater, so we didn't find any shells. I didn't even see the elephant until I accidentally touched its trunk.

Caught without proper sandcastle building materials, I am forced to improvise.

Here I am next to Neptune Beach's friendly neighborhood panther. He was very nice, even though he looks like the sole survivor of a first-grade art class.

This bench was dedicated "in loving memory of Harry and Virginia Huxham". I honor their contribution to Jacksonville the only way my buttcheeks can.

Here I am ordering lunch at Sticky Fingers. While I was disappointed that Keith Richards wasn't around, I consoled myself by watching a TV showing Spongebob on mute.

In honor of my panther friend, I partake of Sticky Fingers' variation on the Big Fruity Pink Lemonade (tm).

Here I am enjoying a delicious rib lunch platter. Notice the large green towel they gave me in place of a napkin. After all, when in the South, you might as well clean up like a redneck would.

On the way home, we stopped by Baskin Robbins so I could pick up a double scoop of Oreo Outrageous!, an ice cream so decadent that my teeth said, "Look, we'll stop playing Guns and Roses at 3 AM, just cut it out already."

And so ended my day at Neptune Beach. It was a great day, filled with warm memories. Especially the memory of realizing that I sat underneath the hot sun for 30 minutes and forgot to use sunscreen on the back of my neck. Magical.

Matt - you really know how to have a good time! Nice sandcastle!! Question; I've never seen a perfect square of ribs before - were they really ribs, or were they a substituted soy-based rib-like product? Just curious.

If that's a subtle pledge to get me to drop meat, please wait until I am disciplined enough to make the decision on my own
