I'm taking on a president position for an italian club at my university, and I need some suggestions.

every week there will be a meeting, and currently i'm trying to brainstorm fun/educational ideas.

in the past, we played card games & bocci, went out for gelato, watched theater, attempted to speak italian, and did intermural sports which were a lot of fun too.

since i'm taking over the position from someone who did it very well last semester, I want to try and push myself and this club further, and i'm open to any ideas people might have.

i'm looking forward to your responses!

If you have the resources, Italian Opera would be interesting. Experimenting with authentic Italian cooking (something besides spaghetti, lasagna, or pizza) might work if you have access to a large enough kitchen.

we've done the tarantella which is fun, although it wasn't carried out too well last year, so i'll definitely look into that, thanks.

we're planning on doing italian cooking as well, which should be fun.

i was just trying to get more creative.

Try to find a local pizzeria and ask the cook whether he could give you guys a workshop on how to make pizza's including the spinning dough thingy they always do.

Do a "who makes the best tiramisu" contest.

Do a quiz about Italy with questions about history, cities, famous people. Divide your group in smaller groups and you can play the quiz master yourself. Dress up, apply a fake moustache and talk with an italian accent. Oh and call yourself Guillermo or Lorenzo or some other italian name. It could be fun.

Why not ask the other members of the club if they have any ideas, or something they would like to see being done?

Besides that:

Watch some italian movies
Learn a new italian word every week (and every meeting you´ll have to substitude that word in English for the one in Italian)
Focus on a different region/city every week and learn as much as you can about that
Get a different italian artist every week to focus on and learn about their art.
