I'm going to India, october this year. I'm travelling with a danish NGO and will start with 1 month in Goa, then 3 months in Kerala. When these 4 months are over, I'm off to travel for myself and this is where I could use your help. My plan is to travel north with train and end my trip in Darjeeling, but it could be nice with some suggestions for places to see. General advice for India is of course also appreciated And does anyone know if trekking is possbile around Darjeeling in february? |

You might wanna check out the indiamike.com forums. Yes, much of India is "crowded, polluted, corrupt and poor", but it is a certain kind of traveler who is attracted to India. The real beauty of India lies in the spiritual truths it embodies in all its culture - food, music, dance, festivals - everything. Seek that which lies beneath the outer chaos and you will be rewarded |

Aelle: I've no plans about a blog as of now, it might happen though. klystr0n: I've heard a lot of things about India, both positive and negative, but I'm very curious to explore it all. I think I'm taking 6-7 vaccines not including the malaria medicine. Antarananda: Thanks for the link, will check it out tonight. I just discovered Sarnath, where Buddha's first teachings apparently took place. It's very high on my list together with Varanasi It seems that you have been there before |
