Angela will become famous soon enough
Default Michael Brecker has passed on

I post here because with all the intelligent, creative folks on this forum I know many of you will share my grief that one of the finest jazz musicians ever died this past weekend. I am so glad I had the chance to hear him play live several times and that his music lives on on so many recordings of all different genres. Still, it breaks my heart that he died so young (57) and, selfishly, that I will never have the pleasure of hearing him play in person again. What a monster of a talent he was.

I first became aware of Michael Brecker from Frank Sinatra's shout out to the Brecker Brothers in the version of "Mack the Knife" that appears on the "LA Is My Lady" CD. Just an insanely talented sax player...I regret that I never saw him play live...
