Default Im enjoying criminal activity.

I play this MMOgame EVE online. What I find kinda disturbing is that I really enjoy criminal stuff, stealling from other players, making traps and scamming them.
Please note that these are really people and the game mechanics are such that they sometimes loose months of hard work due to my actions. Reall months, asin jannuary, april, may.... 100 of hours playtime.
On the other hand, in RL I am honest, I never lie or steal, never did and never will.
So.... if as Steve suggested that this egzistance is sort of a MMO game for higher conciussnes (as I see it) to experience growth. Just like that I play EVE, to see what if, to find out about myself.
Well, Im not liking what Im discovering.
Just recently I nailed a guy for 700 milion isk. Not only do I like that I gained substantial ingame income, I acctually liked the fact that he will be pissed off for atleas a few days.

Perhaps I would like to piss people off in RL Im just scared of the consequences?

I think it's good that you let loose in a game instead of in "real life."

I don't play MMO's as I find them too addictive (and boring, to be honest), but when I played a little in the past, I preferred PVE (player versus environment) instead of attacking other players. As you noted, some people take their game very seriously and even though I don't think that's very healthy, I don't want to attack a player and cause him to be truly upset.

I think you have a lot of power in your mind and if you wanted to, you can stop "liking the fact" that your actions piss people off. The question is -- do you want to?

Interesting development.
A guy whose stuff i took now contacted me and wants it back. Wants to buy it back. I am in a position to make things right.... hm.
I fell that it would be right to give it back... i had my thrill. He suffered enough.

Hmm there are many perspectives... You could serve as a catalyst to help push people to stop wasting their time...

But who knows.. Karma is still karma regardless of the medium, right?

Karma is the psychological perception of the world being against you. Any event can be interpreted as positive or negative.

I'm half liking it, half wanting more explanation. Do you think you could do a post going deeper into that idea Plato?

PS I noticed you linked my site on your blog... much thanks for that

Well well well.....lol. My pal plays eve online and just recently got nailed by a pirate like you.

How interesting.

Yeah - you're right - I think it irks people to have it happen, but I don't think the healthy ones sweat it for days like you think.

So you enjoy it - has it happened to YOU..and if so...what was your emotional response then...
Hmmmm?

Put yourself in the people's shoes you are stealing from. Sure, it's just a game, so it's nothing serious, but this type of behavior could leak into your real life. IT's not good to take pleasure in others' misfortunes, especially when you are the one causing them. You are ruining the fun of the game for others by erasing their hard work.

Since it is just a game, though, I wouldn't worry too much about it until you do something similar in real life. Then it's time to see someone you can talk to about it.
