| Sometimes I get teary over movies that are not intrinsically sad, but which stir up nostalgia. I always cry over "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" because I can remember exactly when and where I saw it ( 16 at the drive in with my first "real" boyfriend) also "Milo and Otis" because animal movies ALWAYS reduce me to tears, God knows why, "Guys and Dolls" because it was the movie my brother took me to on his last leave home before he was killed. So. . . . whether or not I cry at movies is very much dependent upon the whole memory thing rather than the content. |

| Good thread. Hmm, Iīd say: Gattaca The Iron Giant The Brotherhood of War (awesome south-korean war-film) The Shawshank Redemption Planes, Traines and Automobiles (John Candy at the trainstation at the end really got to me). And probably a whole bunch more I canīt remember right now. Also, some episodes of the Simpsons (among them the one where Homer saves Nedīs leftorium. Weird, huh?) and a couple of the earlier episodes of Without a Trace.

| One of my favorite movies of all time! It not only makes me cry, it stirs me very deeply. I quote from it here. Beyond that, other than comedies, all movies make me cry! I'm such a sap.

| As others have said: Iron Giant It's a Wonderful Life (no matter how many times I see it) Life is Beautiful Garden State Million Dollar Baby Color Purple My Dog Skip Old Yeller Saving Private Ryan Dead Poets Society I felt too manipulated by Pay it Forward to cry. I, too, get emotionally invested in Naruto! It is surprisingly good. Not yet mentioned: > Billy Elliott > LOTR (esp. when the Ents come to the rescue! I wanted to stand and cheer in the theater) > Breaking the Waves - I've wanted to re-watch this one, but it is SO emotionally wrenching, I've rented it and not watched it several times! I cried for about an hour straight after seeing it in the theater. Very beautiful, very moving...Emily Watson, ahhh..... > The Bicycle Thief > Whale Rider - oops, getting teary just thinking about it! |

| The only movie that made me cry was a Japanese movie about a dog whose owner died. Unfortunately I can't remember it's name I've seen it a long time ago back when I was a little kid. The second movie on my list, that almost made me cry was "La vita é Bella"(Life is beautiful). Third (didn't make me cry but it was a little bit sadder than the average movies): Titanic.

| I hope someone has seen this quite old film, "The Killing Fields". It is a story about a Vietnamese who sacrificed a lot just to free an American journalist so that the world will know about what's happening to their country during the war. But what really made me cry was when the ending was near. The song "Imagine" by the great late John Lennon was being played while both characters will meet again after the journalist returned to Vietnam to thank him. Another touching films I like are: RAINMAN - Dustin Hofmann and Tom Cruise THE GREEN MILE - Tom Hanks SEVEN - Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt
