I've watched lots of movies since this thread started... Spy Game Definitely, Maybe Dangerous Beauty Atonement Bridge to Terabithia Fratricide The Last King of Scotland The Quiet American This is England Matchstick Men I couldn't quite stop myself from putting movies that weren't really feel-good, but were still really good, on the list. Um, sorry.

| this message is over 2 years old but it's good to hear somebody else extolling the virtues of this film. I've pimped Tarkovsky before on these "movie recommendation" threads but sometimes it feels pointless because his stuff is so demanding, where most people are used to movies designed as passive experiences. It's not that his stuff is hard to watch, just completely different from your normal movie going experience. That tends to turn a lot of people off.

just saw Slumdog Millionaire. it does make you feel bad with the poverty and all, but the net effect is a Positive. Love stories always win out. a definite recommend for a real pick-me-up.

I'm a sucker for against-all-odds movies, like: Billy Elliot Finding Forrester The Pursuit of Happyness The Great Debaters The Color Purple Being a musician, these biopics inspired me too: What's Love Gotta Do With It Ray Walk The Line and, of course, the biopic to top all biopics: Walk Hard

I can't believe Willy Wonka, (the original, not the 2006 piece of garbage) hasn't been mentioned yet. That's my favorite and also my feel good movie. Nothing can pull me back to childhood faster than that movie. Willy Wonka Chocolat Warriors of Heaven and Earth Spirited Away Good Will Hunting Killer Klowns from outer space: Not a "touching" flick, but always good if I need a mood boost. The Sound of Music

In response to RT Wolf, I also enjoyed Snatch quite a bit. I ought to see Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. My brother raves about it.
