I suppose this is a good place for this. What began as putting together a list of food I enjoy while I was extremely hungry (University student), has turned into a personal quest to find, not just the foods I find most delicious, but a menu for a full-course meal, that is personally the absolute ultimate, most delicious menu I can create. Thus began the Deliciousness Project. Now, I enjoy strong, intense flavours - blue cheese, wasabi, tiny wild strawberries, sourdough, that sort of thing. I prefer to eat 'ingredients', rather than mixing things as in a recipe, and raw unless cooking is required to bring out the flavour (bacon, sourdough), and this personal in-progress menu reflects that. I'm sharing this admittedly rough, early-stage menu in the hope that you can offer suggestions for foods, categories, random thoughts and observations - I'll be thrilled if you begin your own 'Deliciousness Project'! Few things give pleasure to the senses as immediately and directly as food (in moderation), and I believe good, delicious food is requisite to a fulfilled and happy life. That said, I'm not aiming for any particular standard of health, raw, vegan, or otherwise. For me, food is fuel first; but that aside, this project aims squarely at finding pinnacles of flavour, first and foremost, and for that I hope your experience can guide me. Without further delay, I present: The (alpha) Deliciousness Project: __ Appetizer: Drink: Fresh Squeezed Pulpy Orange Juice, Fresh Squeezed Pulpy Sweet Grapefruit, Ice-water, Salad: Raw Baby Spinach, Aged Blue Cheese, Roasted Pine Nuts, Chewy Bacon, Crispy Bacon, Mango, Medium-sliced Salmon Sashimi, Raw Crimini (brown) Mushrooms, Tiny Wild Strawberries, Dip: Balsamic Vinegar Dip, Wasabi Dip, Non-virgin Olive Oil, Soup: Meat: Whole Peeled Lobster, Whole Slow-Deep-Fried Ham, Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi, ???? Sashimi, Liquor: Guinness, Forty Creek Whiskey Premium Barrel Select, Appleton Estate Rum, Sambuca, some kinds of red wines, Bombay Sapphire Gin (in tonic), On the Side: Red Seedless Grapes, Baby Dill Pickles, Fresh Blackberries, Kiwi, Fresh Blueberries, Tiny Wild Strawberries, Bread: Sourdough, Pumpernickel Rye, Desert: Pipe Tobacco: |
