Tomorrow is my 18th birthday! The sad thing is I don't have anything planned for it. My history of parties has not been a great one. Namely, I cried through most of my 13th, didn't have one for 14 OR 15, and was disappointed with my 16th (I don't remember my 17th). I REALLY want my 18th to be special, but I don't have anything I want to do. I really don't even have anything I truly want (aka that can be bought. I want things like a good body, no debt, good grades). My mom is upset with me for not having anything and says that if I don't pick something that I will blame her for not doing anything. I want to chose something or else she is going to make me miserable... does anyone have any ideas?

Do you have friends you can go out with? You could probably find a decent show to see or an event to attend. I don't think you should put so much emphasis on having the greatest birthday party and just chill because you're just going to set yourself up for disappointment. It's likely too late to have a decent party because as I understand it you haven't done any planning or preparation and I imagine many people already have plans for the weekend. You're also analyzing this way too much. It doesn't matter that you cried on your 13th birthday or that you didn't even have one for a couple years. Maybe you should spend less time thinking about trivial things like that and more time on things of substance. You'll probably have plenty more birthdays to celebrate as you wish. |
