My wife and I are soon planning to take an extended trip around the U.S., and spend much of that time volunteering at charities. Here is how we plan to go about it: Sell or donate most of our personal belongings. Sell my new car. Store the other car. Purchase an RV. Move out of our house. Travel. We have taken extended vacations before, and also lived in several different States, so it is not too out of character for us to do something like this. My question is, can anyone recommend some good charities that really need some help? They can be large or small. I have a couple that I have been in contact with in the past, but we'd really like to meet a lot of new people along the way, and find people that need the most help. The trip is planned to begin in July 2009. Thanks for your suggestions! (ps - It really doesn't matter what kind of help they may be looking for, from computer work and marketing, to manual labor, to working at events, etc...)
