I hate christmas music. I find it depressing and infuriating. Blechhhh. All except the Kinks' Father Christmas: Father christmas, give us some money Dont mess around with those silly toys. Well beat you up if you dont hand it over We want your bread so dont make us annoyed Give all the toys to the little rich boys Dont give my brother a steve austin outfit Dont give my sister a cuddly toy We dont want a jigsaw or monopoly money We only want the real mccoy But give my daddy a job cause he needs one Hes got lots of mouths to feed But if youve got one, Ill have a machine gun So I can scare all the kids down the street I do like that one. |

| Because I find holiday music to be of exceptionally poor quality (jingle bells, jingle bell rock, silent night, we wish you a merry christmas, oh xmas tree), morose in nature (chestnuts roasting on an open fire - happy words but mopey tones), incredibly sappy (away in a manger, it's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas), passive aggressive (Have yourself a merry little christmas, (you loser)), boring and repetitive (no-el no-el no-el no-el and 12 days of xmas, little drummer boy), commercial and greed-filled (all the santa claus songs) or just plain dishonest ("I'll be home for christmas, but only in my dreams" -- f*** you, that means you WON'T be home for christmas). Oh, and PLEASE ... if I have to hear Elvis or Sinatra singing another cutesy carol, I am going to puke up a gallon of eggnog. There is nothing worse than Elvis or Sinatra holiday songs -- I would rather have scabies. And it's EVERYWHERE. It's awful. It's the most horrible time of the year (that's a christmas carol joke, in case you missed it.) |

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s version of Carol of the Bells is definitely my favorite. Not the usual Christmas fare, and has a lot more going on in it. If you haven't heard it before and decide to give it a listen, just give it a minute to pick up. It's well worth it. |

My Favorites: Sarijevo 12/24 ( Trans-Siberian Orchestra) Oh Come All Ye Faithful (by either Twisted Sister or Luther Vandross) Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Bruce Springsteen version) Silent Night (Boys 2 Men) White Chirstmas (Perry Como) The Christmas Song (Bing Crosby) |

I like Stop the Cavalry which is an accidental Christmas song. It's an anti-war song and he included the line 'wish I was at home for Christmas' and that was it... YouTube - Jona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry I also like Fairytale of NewYork YouTube - The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York |
