| I've discovered recently that when I'm happy I love GOA music. It's like I feel the music better and appreciate it more. When I'm not happy it returns to it's "normal" state which is "good music, but nothing special". When I'm happy it has ten times the effect of very good trance on me. Has anyone had the same thing with music ? (any kind of music) and emotions ? (any emotions) P.S. good (at least for me) GOA music -> Skodyac > mixes > ThisPsy-ence Goa trance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

| It is like mixing paints. If they are the same colour then they produce the same colour. If they are different they come closer to each other.

| I also experience this, newton. I think it might be some kind of resonance (like the pain analogy from Jarrod): you resonate with the music according to your mood. I usually listen to stuff from Ambient/Chillout through Trance, Goa to Drum & Bass and Hard techno. (fortunately, di.fm has a lot of channels with different styles) Usually I pick the genre based on my mood. For example when I feel angry or frustrated, I prefer harder music. But when I feel happy, I rather prefer Trance, or Chillout. Sometimes, the choice of the music style can also influence my mood. Like when I want to help myself feel calm I listen to Ambient/Chillout. When I want to feel motivated, Goa fits very well. Yesterday I tried many different styles while playing Unreal Tournament 2003. It seems that listening to Drum&Bass made me play at best ;-) |
