Question Paint or wallpaper?

In your home, do you have the walls painted or do you have wallpaper?

Where I live, wallpaper seems to be much more popular than painting. I'm wondering why?

I would go with paint. Once you have wallpaper up, the wall will never look right if it is painted. Also, if you ever have to patch the wall or install an outlet, wallpaper makes it very difficult to do a proper job that looks right.

Paint. Try a color glaze.

My house has wallpaper in many rooms and I don't like it. In 1 or 2 rooms, it is peeling off and looks terrible. In other rooms, the pattern is outdated, and it will take several hours to remove the wallpaper in order to paint.

I suppose you could put wallpaper over top of the wallpaper, but that seems like the kind of shortcut that would be easy to notice down the road. Also, what if the new paper doesn't stick properly to the semi-glossy finish on the old paper?

It just seems like more bother than it's worth.

hm.. well my living is currently temporary and I didn't want to really put in the work to do either, so I have a big tapestry up. I love it!
