Just want to know what crazy things you would do if you knew you had to put all of your life into one week.

This thread really reminds me of this song: YouTube - Cruxshadows - Birthday (Custom Video) It really made me think about how i would act if i only had a short time left to live. |

In one week, I'd just call everyone I've cared for to tell them goodbye and have some final conversations with them, reminiscing over some of the wonderful things we've done together. I'd also write some posts on my blog to write down some final thoughts on life and on living that I'd love to share. Hmmm, this exercise has been surprisingly somewhat emotional.

So people would not have to worry about the practical side of what to do with my dead body. And of course I would give away the few material stuff I have before I die, so that people don't have to fight about that. The non material things are things would be things that I have already given to them in my life, so in that matter they will just have to rely on what they remember of it. So the day I die they can be free to mourn or to celebrate whatever suits them best. and don't have to worry to much about practical stuff, like to end the contract of energy supply, close down a bank account, pay the latest bills that arrive etc...I think I could fix all that from them in about a week.

Sam's on the right path, cryonics really is the way to go. Though I intend to finalize my arrangements long before I have 7 days left to live. I'd probably invest the last of my money into things like stocks and shares, just so there's a small chance of it paying off when I'm ressurected. (And yes, I wouldn't leave a penny in inheritance. For all I know, it's my relatives who are responsible for my death). As for what I'd do with the week, I'd really love to see something beautiful outside of my computer screen so traveling is what I'd do. Places like Tibet, Japan, Egypt, the jungle, and the deep ocean (submarines! Wooo!). |

In the immortalist circles that I frequent, people don't like the word "immortality" and instead prefer the phrase "indefinite lifespan", alleviating to the idea of "live as long as you want to, and only allow yourself to die when you're good and ready". My thoughts on that? My idea of an ideal lifespan is a permanent one. Forever and ever. Nothing less. Even when the universe collapses, time ends, and everyone's up in Heaven and is all like "Hey, Ceros, we're up in heaven and it's awesome here! Come, join us" I'd be all like "Eh, I'm good; don't wait up for me." Because when I think about it? This world is designed to cater to my every whim and desire, including those I don't even realize that I have. If heaven exists, I'm in it. Always have been. Always will.

I'd definitely found a way to travel to Seychelles. You made me think again about how much I love my wife... In the past I would say "I'd definitely found a way to travel to Seychelles, even if I had to sell all of my stuff". But not now. Right the opposite - perhaps I would work like mad for the whole week in order to leave my wife with as much money as possible. And I'd buy a big insurance too... Hmm... not too funny... To add some fun I want to remind you a moment from the "Simpsons", when Homer Jay started some PD. When he tried to live a day like his last day, he sat and cried "I don't wanna die!!!!" |

I'd but stones a shovel and some water. I'd construct a peaceful place. I'd then give anything left over to my friends. I would sit in front of the pool, and I would meditate. I would find peace before I die. If not, well, I'd have all eternity to do so.

I would go to the Norfolk coast and visit all the places from my childhood holidays. I'd walk in the pinewoods at Wells-next-the-sea and along the beach and just relax with my family. What's the point of rushing around like mad thing trying to cram in stuff when in all likelihood you won't appreciate what you do and regret not doing it earlier. I'd rather just take a final look at places that brought me joy. |
