Maybe this has already been discussed in here, but has anyone of you watched this new NBC series 'Heroes'? With people discovering that they suddenly have abilities that defy the norms (like levitation, mind-reading, time-bending, super strength, self-healing, etc). Sounds like the kind of stuff that the IM/SR people claim is possible indeed...

| Thanks for the info, after I wrote the post I figured out what IM was (I clicked back to the forum home page and saw it) and that it was not instant messaging as I thought when I saw it a couple days ago. But I could not figure out the SR. Now that we have established that I am not one of the IM/SR people, I can regrettable say, I can't offer much other than the fact I watch the show. Or maybe it is just so late out here I can't think straight. I would use a boost my brain joke here but it is just too easy or freaky that the first post I have no answer for is coming from someone with a "boost the brain" website. Or is "Ironic" the word I seek. Thanks anyway, |

I didn't relate it back to IM/SR at all, but I've been watching it since the pilot, so it got my brain before I started thinking about that stuff. The problem with relating it to IM/SR is that none of the heroes intend to manifest their powers. Claire feels self-destructive, not indestructible; Peter wants to be different, not like everyone else; Nathan keeps his feet on the ground; Eden doesn't want to say the wrong thing. And while Time Travel happens annoyingly often in X-Men, the Marvel Universe views it completely differently from "warping the spacetime continuum", as Hiro put it: his conception of how his powers work is completely different the way he describes it. That said, the whole Niki thing would be a mindjob if you looked at it from an IM/SR perspective. |

| I think they did use IM, they may have not done it to manifest their powers, I think they had about as much choice with that as some one has being born blond, or dark hair, etc. That is genetics. However they intended to meet other people like themselves and that is how the whole thing got started. It may even be more LoA when you look at the way their paths cross. The prof. intented to meet people with powers because of his daughter, he in turn created Sylar, who started the whole "save the cheerleader" issue, and that is why they say to be very specific with what you ask for. I still don't know what Subjective Reality is. I think what is really mindblowing is the last episode before the break with Peter. Cheers |

I think Peter is analog to Sylar: both have abilities that make them absorb others powers. Sylar can learn how they work while Peter is something more like osmosis. I think Peter stays with the "embryo" of the power, then he could later fully develop it (my theory). When Mr. Bennet talks to Sylar about "everyone we know have only one power and what the hell will happen with someone like you", I think the answer is Peter (a bomb man). Sylar gets the powers and "install" them, no problems...but Peter doesn´t have a clue about what is happening. Call me crazy |

Actually, according to Mr. Bennett, it's not "no problems". Sylar certainly didn't seem psychotic as a watchmaker: he just wanted to be special. But then he couldn't stop. I'm more curious what power he stole that let him survive three bullets without a scratch. Well, imagine what would happen if Peter and Sylar got together long enough for Peter to start absorbing. Would Peter overload from the "DNA infusion"? Can Peter choose to absorb or not? Wait, they have, though Sylar ran off pretty fast. |

They were very pointed about the ambiguity of that scene, and though every part of me wishes Eden were still alive, I think she's gone. They'd have to introduce a new villain if Sylar were dead, for one thing, though there are some hints that there's something else going on...

Eden turned the gun on herself to prevent Sylar from stealing her brain. How was Sylar able to pull her through the glass though? I thought at first that he couldn't do it when the Haitian was present but I don't think the Haitian was hanging around the area all night long. He couldn't pull Mr. Bennett through, presumably because of the Haitian's presence. Know what I mean? |

I just watched the end of the last heroes again and I don't think Sylar is gone. Eden killed herself though. And the Haitian speaks. Good question Erin, how did Sylar break the window? If the Haitian isn't there 24 hours a day, then why did he stay in there? As always with this show, I am officially lost. |

My theory is that Peter ends up being around that radioactive guy and can't control it any more than radioactive guy could. My next guess is that Haitian saves him by cancelling out the power just before he goes supernova. Did anyone see the image behind Isaac (the painter) of what looked like Johnny Storm from Fantastic Four? What was that supposed to be? |

I know it is probably just me but I am so happy the show is back on tonight that I am doing what can only be deemed my version of "dancing a jig" right now. I am sure after watching the show a whole new can of questions will be opened but I don't care, just happy the show is back on. |

So much just got confirmed by this episode and I didn't even see every minute (running back and forth during commercials). I almost feel sad, like they took a lot of mystery out of it. But they added another dose in, so it's all good.
