Thumbs up Blizzard's new teaser images: Diablo 3?!

http://us.media.blizzard.com/232309/_images/ice1.jpg

http://us.media.blizzard.com/232309/_images/ice2.jpg

Take a look at today's entry on this fansite:

Diablo 3 News Community

Quote:
xusnlivin reports one of the runes shown in today's image resembles the Hel Rune from Diablo II.
Quote:
The speculation was true: D (04.jpg - fourth letter of the alphabet) and today's image O (15.jpg - 15th letter of the alphabet). At this rate the image numbers will reveal DIABLO. Tomorrow's image might be named as any of these file names ... 01.jpg (standing for the first letter of the alphabet: A), 02.jpg (standing for B), 12 (standing for the twelve letter of the alphabet: L) or 09.jpg (standing for the nineth letter of the alphabet: I).
I think it will be Diablo 3. Here's hoping!

But wait.

What is this...?

...?!

Haha. Trash.
But Blizzard never has shown off much of forthcoming games if i'm right. Which is a good thing in our overhyping times.

You know, that's not a very convincing counterargument.

Meanwhile, this image was found on the WWI website:

Well being a long time fan of the Diablo games as well. Im very much hoping A new installment into the Diablo series is done. Im concerned that it may not have that same "feel" that the first 2 +expansions had.

Lets just hope its not "World of Starcraft"......................

Starcraft? Have you been smoking your Starcraft 2 disc?

They did WoW... World of Diablo... WoD, nah... I don't believe in that idea. But hell, whatever Blizzard does, it rocks. Have they ever failed before?

Blizzard does usually put out some seriously great work.

I was amazed with the level of detail in World of Warcraft. That's YEARS old now.

My point exactly. They don't release any crap.
I would've liked to see that Warcraft Adventures though.

You can tip walls onto your enemies!!!

But there's only two characters to choose from... I sure hope they have more in the game! Can't have Diablo without necromancer, assassin, amazon, fairy^H^H^H^H^Hpaladin, and sorceress.

There's 5 classes for D3, they just haven't announced 3 of them.

I was a huge starcraft and diablo fan a few years ago. Maybe I'll get back into it with these new releases.

Thanks for the update, Dan. T'was good hearing such news from you.

You a fan of the Diablo series? Maybe you've mentioned it; I can't remember.

Technically you bash into walls (the barbarian was shown doing this in the 20 minute video demonstration) and they fall onto enemies.

Certainly sounds like a fun mechanic, but it doesn't seem to have much pvp application. If anything, I'll like how it'll give d3 a more DBZ-like feel where impact from powerful blows is felt more (see the end of the 20 minute demonstration for more on powerful blows ).

For those wondering, I'm a retired d2 master, having explored the game for 4 years. I was the one doing things you've probably never heard about (did you know there was a secret weapon class?) and playing d2 the way the designers of d3 describe how they want players to play d3 (i.e. I would say things like, "potions are for sissies," and "to get away from an enemy you go through them"; all the general philosophies the d3 designers want to encourage, and rightly so).

D2 was and still is one of the best games of its kind, and a highly notable game within the entire realm of games. It's sad that not many people got to experience the high level of d2 due to various design decisions, but it seems they're doing a good job at making the high level experience accessible in d3, kind of like compressing the tiers in a fighting game to make it more balanced and more options viable.

I cant wait. This sure put a smile on my face!
I loved D1 and D2.
I think there will be a a strong multi player component to D3. In the game demo the narrator said "d3 is a cooperative game. What is better then bashing monsters with your friends?" that is loosely quoted.

Classic Diablo II was very much about teamwork in the PvE environment, don't you think?

I do think thanks . But i also agree that it is very much about team work and cooperation. While i enjoyed single player mode, i loved mutiplayer mode. I esp liked having my guy friends over( i did not know a single girl besides me who played) , everyone with their laptops and killing monsters for hours the only break to get water. I also i had put the wireless router near the window and we would sit out under the starts and laugh manically while we played.

Hey Dave, when D3 comes out, want to come over and play? well really anyone can come over and play! LAN party!

When D3 comes out, we will be in New Zealand. Hell, it might not even come out before 2012, so who knows if we'll even be using computers :P

Honestly though, yes, we will play the hell out of it.

What's your style of play/fav char Adrienne? Everyone else?

I would be ok playing D3 in on a holodeck if computers dont exist anymore
However, i am SOOOOO not wearing the outfits game developers usually design for girls :P

Your right, we could be in NZ or we may might have moved on, or we may not have made is there yet!

I love to cast spells. Occasionally i will play a character like the barbarian and just smash everything, but i usally like to sneak in, get some spells off, run away laughing like hell, and repeat... What do you like?
